"You turd!" Nyx yelled after him, crawling up the next block. Fortunately for them, there was no "top" to race to, as they couldn't possibly climb up the smooth limestone facing at the summit. Now it was just a race to the edge of the smooth white rock.
The trees flipped him off too.
"This is fun!" Vozreal said, in Egypt.
Nyx scampered up after him, but she was becoming tired.
"Come on, keep up!" He taunted
"You're two feet taller than me," she panted, heaving herself up the next block. "You have an unfair advantage."
"Height has nothing to do with it…" He said
"Your legs are longer than mine! And your arms!" She scrambled up another two blocks.
He let her reach the top.
Nyx, exhausted, reached the bottom of the limestone facing and flopped down, cheering wearily.
"Woohoo," Nyx said blearily. The Egyptian night was calm, the sky sprinkled with stars, and from several miles away, she could see the glittering lights of Cairo. It made her catch her breath - and not from the exhaustion.
"Very pretty…" He noticed
"Just makes you wanna help out earth, ya know? You only have only planet…"
Nyx curled up on the stone block, hugging her knees to her chest, and nodded. "Yeah, it does."
"Progress comes at a price."
"Mm." The teal eyes closed.
"Anywhere else in the world you wanna visit?"
"We could go anywhere? Really?"
"I don't know… I want to stay here for a little while longer."
Nyx yawned and leaned against the blocks. "I think, when we're done here, we can go back to your house, and then sleep, and then tomorrow, we can go to Rome."
"Sounds like a plan!" He sighed.
They spent about half an hour in comfortable silence, looking at the stars and the desert landscape, and then Nyx asked, "What was it like, building the pyramids?"
