Ragnor: Watches the events with an amused expression, the smoking stick still in his mouth
Eve: ears perk forward
Fighting…its just another part of life
Ragnor: Whether you are fighting to survive, or just for the hell of it…
Pauses, slowly closing his eyes
Fighting just to keep your family alive…heh…it's really a pity they had to go out that way…
Eve: Lays her ears back
Come now Ragnor…you know you couldn't do anything…
Ragnor: moves his right arm, staring at the metallic shimmer, knowing what laid underneath
Yea…I suppose there are just some things one can't avoid, no matter how hard they try
(A disgusting, dark, ooze begins to poor from the ceiling on to the ground. No visible entry point is seen, as the ooze seemed to have materialized from nowhere. As it pooled onto the ground, a multitude of eyes begin to spread upon its form. Eyes showing fear. Eyes showing sadness. Eyes showing hatred. All darting around the room searching for a means to escape the mass. Suddenly the ooze rises and takes form. All the eyes close in unison and do not appear again. The form, of course, is none other than Hel with another nonsensical form of entry into the room. She looks up and smiles at the group as if she wasn't covered in eyes not too long ago.) Hel: Hey, y'all! Had a some business to take care of, but it's all good! (She looks at the new face in the room.) What's your story, kid?
Chesh floats over to Hel, still invisible, and wraps her arms around Hel's neck for a hug. She stayed silent though. She didn't want this Maxwell person knowing where she was if possible.
(Her mouth goes stiff in a straight line and her eyes widen. A sensation is felt around Hel's neck. She immediately goes primal. She grabs whatever is around her neck and throws it to the ground with an unforgivable force. She notices that whatever she grabbed is invisible and deduces to her horror…) Hel: CHESH IS THAT YOU?!?!
Chesh groaned on the ground. "Yeah…" She grumbled. "Sorry!" She said sitting up. "I shouldn't of done that. I forgot your not used to that." She said with a groan.
(Hel kneels down in worry and generates warm, green energy from her hands.) Hel: Ah, jeez kid, I'm so sorry. When you're as old as me you need to keep it on ya' toes ya' know? (Hel frowned in guilt.) Okay so nothing's broken and no concussion, but you might wanna sit down awhile. Just to be safe.
Chesh just layed on the ground, still invisible. "It's fine, Hel. I should of warned you." She said. "I'm used to doing that and people knowing it's me." She explained.
Ragnor & Eve: Both instantly freeze at the sight of the ooze
Ragnor: Almost instantly moves so his body is in a defensive position, the earth seemingly cracking under him
Eve: Raises off of her master's shoulder, body radiating a bright green light
Ragnor & Eve: Once the disgusting ooze finally takes shape, revealing none other than Hel, both calm down
Ragnor: Arms fall to his sides, suddenly stumbling back a few feet until meeting a wall. Slowly slides down into a sitting position, head hanging towards his chest. With his good arm, tries reaching for his pocket, but his clearly having a terrible time, shaking
Eve: Gives a concerned chirrup, quickly flitting back and forth, trying to help the best she can
Ragnor: Continues to try and get into his pocket, muttering under his breath, voice shaky
Fuck, fuck, fuck
(Hel looks at the panicking duo and comes close in concern.) Hel: Hey, hey. Don't worry. It was just a new way of entrance I was testing out. I've been practicing for a while. (She tilts her head in worry.) Sorry if that gave you a mini freak out session, it's just my magic. (She awkwardly rubs the back of her head.) Jeez, first I slam Chesh and now I'm giving you guys a freak out. This is some cruddy way to start the day.
Chesh chuckled from the ground as she turned visible. It was taking to much energy to sustain it right now. "Hey! You started out my day better than he did." Chesh said jabbing a finger at Maxwell.
Ragnor: Doesn't seem to hear Hel, still struggling
Eve: Manages to somehow get into his pocket, pulling out his lighter and smokes. She aids him by lightly taking his shaking hand in her tiny paws, steadying him enough to hold and light the white stick
Ragnor: With his familiar's help, raises the cigarette to his lips, inhaling deeply, closing his eyes, still shaking
Eve: Watches him, giving soft chirrups now and then to comfort him. After a little bit of this, slowly flies over to Hel. Her voice is soft as she hovers nearby
It's alright…It's not your fault at all
Seems to release a tiny sigh, ears laid back
Let's just say it brought back some very bad memories. There is still a few things Ragnor has not told you about himself…
(Hel nods in understanding and whips out a pencil and notebook from her bedsh- I mean robe. She starts writing down something.) Hel: Okay so no creepy eye ooze. Got it. (She pockets them both then looks at Eve.) I've got some spells that work as mind alleviations. It could calm him down, but if you don't want me to, that's fine. I just wanna help.
Ragnor: Still shaking in the corner where he had slumped to the ground. Thin trail of smoke rises from the white stick in his mouth
Eve: Continues to hover next to Hel's shoulder
I appreciate the offer, though I'm unsure of how it would affect him…it would probably be best to let him have his smoke and calm down a bit
(Hel nodded in understanding and sat down next to Ragnor. She doesn't touch him, she simply sits next to him. She blows a strand of hair out of her face.) Hel: So… my day's been cruddy. Before I got here there was a problem with like two Grand Cauldrons cause some amateurs didn't clean them right last night, so I had to go ahead and… (She talks apparent nonsense. Empty nothings of her daily troubles. She talks of friends and duties. She talks of dragons and lemons. She talk of void and nothingness. Simple things.)
Ragnor: After some time, his shaking seems to slow down to stopping. Left hand is balled in a fist around something, a silver chain attached to whatever he is holding
Eve: comes to settle on Ragnor's knee, growing silent. Her ears remained laid back, purring softly
Ragnor: Seems like an eternity, before he finally speaks
How long has it been…20…no, 60 years now since I lost her…
Sighs, leaning his head back against the wall
…y'know…I'm too damn old for this shit…trying to move on…but the past keeps biting you in the ass
Gives a sad chuckle
132 years old, and you'd think I'd move on by now…
Eve: Ragnor…
(Hel ceases her nothing talk and looks at Ragnor sadly.) Indeed, the past strikes you when you don’t want it to. When you want to believe that your world is fixed and that everything will be okay. (She closes her eyes.) It comes at your highest point. The happiest and most serene you can be. When you believe that your sins are far, far behind you. (She’s opens then and there is no trace of the silly witch from before. Merely a sad old woman sitting next to a sad old man. She attempts a hesitant question.) Who was it?
Ragnor: That it does
head remains resting against the back of the wall
…my Fiancée…lost her to the abominations
Eve: gives a sad chirrup, wings drooping
Ragnor: Hesitantly lifts his left hand, finally opening to reveal a strange pendant which was attached to the silver chain
Her name was Lunyo…a beautiful dragonkin
Eve: Remains on Ragnor's knee, though her eyes move to the pendant. Stands on his leg, lightly resting her small paw-like hands on the edge of his hand
Ragnor: Eyes shift to his familiar. Lifts his right arm, being extremely careful with his metallic limb, lightly using a finger to pet Eve's head
(Hel clicks her tongue in surprise.) Hel: A dragon-like fiancée, huh? Small world… (She looks down at her clawed feet and holds her ankle.) Did you have any children?
Max bursts through the door, panting: Wassup? S'rry I've be gone mates, had a little trouble to deal with.
(Hel looks at Max and throws her arms up in the air in cheeriness.) Hel: Hey, Max! You wanna join Sad Old People Central? It started cause I accidentally triggered Ragnor's PTSD with eye ooze like an *sshole! (She puts her hands down and looks at Max. She jokingly asks a question.) Have YOU ever had a dragon-like lover in your life? If so, join the party!
Max chuckles and shook his head: I think I'll skip
Hel: Okay but for real, I made Ragnor freak out and we're having a chill out session right now. (She looks around the room and then back at Max.) Also watch where you step cause I accidentally slammed Chesh on the floor while she was invisible and she might still be there. Or she left. I have no idea.
(Hel looked over at Ragnor. He was still looking petting Eve and gently rubbing his thumb over the pendant, possibly reminiscing about his past. She then looks over at Max.) Hel: This might sound personal and out of the blue, but we're already deep in this sh*t. (No kids, no censor.) Have you ever lost someone you were close to?
Ragnor: Mhm…her mother was a Lunaro dragon, her father a human
Well, least from my world, those are dragonkin; offspring of a dragon and human, or both parents are dragonkin
As for children…we never did have any. Know we talked about it before though
Sighs again, though his eyes shift towards the returning Max. Gives a half-hearted wave with his right arm, returning it to his side, the metal clanking against the floor
Hey kid
