Chesh became visible. "Have you Hel?" Chesh asked. She had tears in her eyes. She had been silently crying when invisible but she didn't want anyone to know. "Have you lost someone close to you?" Chesh asked, her voice shaking slightly.
(Hel patted Chesh on the head and smiled sadly.) We’ve all lost people kiddo. My someone didn’t die but… (She fell silent and looked down.) But I did lose her… (Hel shook her head and looked up.) Now, now. Tears and crying won’t change much. All we can do now is either regret or accept. (She ruffles Chesh’s hair in an attempt to lighten the mood.)
Chesh sniffed. "Sorry!" She said drying her eyes. She started laughing. "This little meeting started talking about each other and our abilities. And now we're all just talking about people we've lost." She said.
(Hel laughed with her.) Hel: Pfft jeez you’re right! Let’s talk about stuff that makes us happy like uh… (Hel thought for a moment then snapped her fingers at a thought.) Like current family and friends! You said you have adopted siblings right? What’re they like?
Chesh smiled at the mention of her siblings. "Their pretty good. The best siblings I could asked for. I have three. Flyn, Nykidia and Night." She listed off.
Hel: Nykidia and Night… you said they were the one with a demon thing going on right? (Her eyes showed genuine interest but concern. Demons aren’t prevalent in their world, but that doesn’t stop them from being a negative connotation in most contexts.)
Chesh sat up. "Well Night isn't really a demon even though she is part one. Night is a shade. Do you have those in your universe?" She asked
Ragnor: Watches, a soft smile appearing on his face
Eve: Chirps, her ears suddenly swiveling forward
Oh no…
???: A sudden metal pillar appears close to Ragnor. A top it, sits a lean, taller male with silver hair. Flashes a grin, showing unnaturally sharp fangs
Wazzup?
Ragnor: JEEZ!!
Rolls out of the way before being impaled, turns head to glare at the newcomer
Goddamn't Imruck! You want me to punch you in the face again?
Imruck: Simply looks down, still showing his fangs
Please don't, my jaw is still slightly crooked from that last punch you gave me
Max blinks a few times: Well… this is a… surprise…
(Hel snorted at thought.) Hel: Nope. No shades in my world. And if there are, I’ve never met one. (She leaned against the wall and jokingly asked a question.) Do you have any Draconians in your world? (She sat a moment then waved her hand dismissively.) You know what, scratch that, I know you don’t. Tell me about this Flyn fella instead.
Ragnor: Stands up, returning the pendant to his pocket, instead moving his left hand to rub his temples, muttering darkly under his breath
Eve: had flitted out of the way, soon coming to hover near Ragnor's shoulder. Crosses her small arms across her chest
Imruck, what are you doing here? You are supposed to be watching the reserve
Imruck: You see, I was watching, then wouldn't ya know it, one of the higher ups where ya work showed up on the doorstep…
Eve: Get to the point
Imruck: Alright, alright, anyways some 'official business' happening and they need ya
Ragnor: Nods
Alright, c'mon Eve
Eve: Chirps, flitting over, coming to sit on Ragnor's shoulder
Ragnor: As he passes, mumbles for the others to hear
You all have my full permission to beat Imruck senseless if he starts doing something he shouldn't
I'll most likely be back around again to make sure he's behaving
Max smirks and nods: Gotcha Boss. He salutes with two fingers.
"Well, Flyn is the son of Marco. Marco runs the mob. Flyn is going to inherit the title someday. Marco took me in when I escaped the lab. He also took Nykidia and Night in off the street." She explained. "He's been a great adoptive father." She said, smiling.
(Hel stares at the newcomer with suspicious interest and looked back to Chesh.) Hel: Well I’m glad this Marci fellow is nice to you. If he wasn’t, I’d make him swallow glass. (She gave a sweet, sincere smile only nice old ladies like herself can give. She gets up walks over to Imruck. She extends her hand for a handshake.) S’up. Hel. Witch. Cool. And you?
Imruck: Hops off the top of the pillar, a pair of bat-like wings that appeared to be made of metal appear from his shoulders, slowing his descent. Once he lands, the wings disappear
Hey y'all
Takes the offered hand, though being careful since his hand appears in long, sharp claws
Nice to meetcha Miss!
Name's Imruck as Ragnor said
Grins, flashing his fangs again
As for myself, I'm a Demonic Metal Elemental
(Hel looks at the wings in awe.) Hel: Bruh that looked siiiiick. Are you a friend of Ragnor and Eve? He didn't seem too pleased by your arrival. (Hel tested these waters and gave him a totally not conspicuous look.)
Imruck: Continues to grin
Why thank you
Chuckles, rubbing the back of his head
You could say that yes, I am indeed Ragnor's friend, one of many creatures that roam the sanctuary he offers for us
Though unlike many, I'm still there with him
(Hel looked inquisitively at Elemental. She went behind him and searched his back for his wings.) Hel: Are those wings retractable or is there something special to 'em?
Imruck: Looks behind him as he watches her
Oh those
Wings suddenly appear again, flapping a bit
These are part of what I actually look like. Ragnor helped me with getting a human form, as my true form is a bit…oh how did he put it…well, he put it nicely, but pretty much said I was a scary, ugly ass bitch
Chuckles again
(Hel stares at his wings with extreme interest.) True form? Are you actually a dragon?? (She pokes them lightly and then starts softly pinching the edges. She makes "pew pew" noises as she does so.)
Imruck: Watches her with an amused expression, allowing her to do whatever she wanted with his wings
Nope, not a dragon. Just a demonic metal elemental
My true form more so looks like a gargoyle crossed with some weird alien thing
Smiles
Don't quite remember how the story went about, but I came from some weird place where they created me using the usual 'hocus pocus', no offense, old magic, and some demon blood. Then wouldn't ya know it, I came about
Max pouts and lays down on a couch with a loud sigh: Damn, more magic peps? Annnnd I'm back to feelin' worthless
Imruck: Looks over, hearing the sigh
Hey, don't be like that
There's probably things you can do that I can't
I mean, I was once just a thought, or since I am an elemental, I was probably just a hunk of metal once
Max shrugs: Still, I'm just a borin' human and you're all so cool.
(Hel looks at Max, a bit stunned, but recomposes herself and sits on the armrest of the couch.) Hel: Hey Max, you wanna why I love visiting the human world so much? (There was a quiet wistfulness in her voice as she asked. But before he could respond, she gave her answer.) Because you guys are so different from us! You don't need magic to live, just yourselves. Necrotzen are literally made of magic, it's part of our biological construction. We were created to wield it and respect it. But you? You brave a world of unique monsters and terrors unseen in our lands. You cultivate lifestyles that my people could never do cause we're an independent species. We don't like working together. It was humans that inspired me to form a convent so I could impact Necrotzen society for the better. And! We got ONE language! Just one! You guys have toooons! And it's awesome. And you have different types of food, and different ways of living, and different cultures, and music, and, and… (She stops a moment to catch her breath.) And… not to be that guy, but you have abysmal magic compatibility. Well, in my world at least. Humans using magic usually leads to a downward mental spiral into insanity because there's something in your soul that… rejects it. (She puts her thinking face on.) I've seen it. You guys have some pure otherworldly magic that I don't know about that repels other magic. It's weird but utterly fascinating! (She finally finishes her monologue.)
