Her next question was softer, but with the same razor-sharp edge. "And who do I love?"

There was a soft, almost imperceptible click as the call was lifted off of the scrambled trunk line, and another one as the recording was stopped.
"Hello, Vozreal." Her voice had less of an edge to it now.

"Hey, Phoenix! How's it going?" He said, annoyed by that, but that wasn't important

"Well, thank you. Sorry about that, I'm required, as a government official, to have call screening in place."

"Makes sense. How's it going in DC?" In the background, you hear a sleeping Nyx

"It's normal. What can I do for you?"

"Listen… When Nyx was sick in the past… What did you do to help?"

"Nyx? She's sick? If you've done something to her -"
