She paused, trying to choose which name she wanted to use. Which version of the truth was she willing to let them see? "Uh, Willow." she decided. "Willow of the Northern forests. Who are you?"
She paused, trying to choose which name she wanted to use. Which version of the truth was she willing to let them see? "Uh, Willow." she decided. "Willow of the Northern forests. Who are you?"
"Britney." She extended her hand out for a handshake
Willow looked at her hand, and shook it carefully. "Hello Britney."
"Hello, Willow…" She said
She rubbed her hands together looking around "So, I'm assuming there's no way out or everyone would already be gone."
"Yep!"
"So then what do we do?" she asked looking at her muddy boots.
"I don't know…" She said
Willow sighed and looked at all the cabinets, "What's in there?" she asked.
"I have no clue…"
She started rummaging through the cabinets pulling out bags of food, looking at them, then replacing them and moving on.
(Okay, Imma head out, because I'm not contributing anything…)
(Sorry y’all, it got kinda busy at home )
Mashka looked down at her bare feet, cloaked in mist. "I… I was raised in a house like this…"
Arwood glanced down at her words, he understood her fright and discomfort, he grew up similarly.
He caught sight of the mist swirling about her ankles. “Is that why the mist appears, because you are frightened?”
Mashka turned faintly pink. "Yes. I'm sorry." The mist grew thinner.
Arwood shrugged, smiling faintly. “It is alright, there is no need to apologize.” He took a deep breath feeling a bit more relaxed now that he was engaged in conversation with someone other than himself. “I do not think I caught your name or where you hailed from.”
"I'm Mashka." She rubbed her thumb against her clavicle.
“It is nice to meet you Mashka.” He said with a crooked smile that never fully reached his eyes. “Although, I wish it were under better circumstances.” Running out of things to say he fell into an uncomfortable silence, nervously stripping the lavender stick of its petals.
Mashka was silent too. Having never met another being, besides Mansion and the occasional ghost, for all these years, she wasn't entirely sure how to converse. She had read about it in books, naturally, but actually doing it? That was far beyond her.
Are you from Thirignam? or one of the lands located in the west? ”
He looked around uncomfortably, when he remembered the mist about her feet, he only knew Wardens being able to control the elements.
“Were you taught on the use of magic, or were you born with it?”
Mashka looked up. "Thirignam? What's that?"
Arwood didn’t need to hear the question to tell by her expression she didn’t know anything about his home.
“Oh, Thirignam is the largest realm on Nyr…it is where I live.”
Mashka looked over his shoulder at the others. "Do they come from Thirignam, too?"
Arwood shrugged, “I do not know, I have never seen them before, to judge by their looks I would say no.” He was looking at the individual who had introduced themselves as Korb. “But then again,” he smiled thinly, “I have not been everywhere and know everything there is to know about the world.”
A thin smile lit Mashka's lips as she gazed at the others. Her skin began to glitter slightly more brightly, as if the sun was shining on it.
"They're all from different places?"
He saw her lightened skin and fought against the urge to ask, what are you? Instead, he asked,
“You like to meet strange new people?” Indicating her smile.
He felt a surge of achievement at finally making her comfortable enough to smile, it had taken him longer than usual, but he still did it.
