Connor eyed the woman disapprovingly. He’d always hated bystanders who played no role to society but that should come out too clear now, should it. With the new information provided, he nodded.
”Well, now that the method’s decided, perhaps it’s now time?” he asked a bit more quietly than usual.
"Hmm…his family is still awake. So is he. We wouldn't want to start a fight or have anyone calling the cops too early, yes?" She asked with a smile. "Just take a moment to relax Con Man. The night is gorgeous and young anyways. After this though, since you don't drink, we can go to the diner my uncle owns called Grandma's Kitchen. I love the food there. And I'll pay, don't worry."
Dare he said, Connor didn’t want to spend more time with this girl for reasons he would rather not disclose to her, that being discomfort. He was socially awkward, always has been. This situation existed within the realm he tried to stay away from. But, of course, a deal’s a deal and he’s than willing to take the money. If that does come at all. He sat down beside the girl, rolling his eyes a bit. His hands rested behind him, balancing himself to not fall. He gave the girl’s hand a long stare, a weird idea emerged in his head. He shook his head a little.
Not a good idea, he said mentally to himself.
She noticed his eyes glancing between their hands and smirked as he looked away but said nothing about it. Who was she to pressure him. "How pretty the sunset is hm?" She said with a smile, the colors of the sky overwashing her and making her glow, looking gorgeous in the sun.
Connor looked at the sunset as well.
“It’s… yeah, pretty…” the man replied, looking back at the girl’s hand again. For some reason, he wanted to take her hand into his, badly as well. However, he wouldn’t dare to do so without her consent. He went back to the staring, not at the sunset but at Evelyn’s hand.
"What, something on my finger nail? I thought I cleaned them today…" She said lifting her hand and looking at her nails. She then put her hand back down on top of Connors. "You're not sneaky about wanting to hold my hand. Why, I don't know since you were just trying to kill me not even an hour ago. Couldn't have fallen that fast." She winked with a smart little grin on her face.
Connor rolled his eyes but took Evelyn on her offer. It wasn’t like he’s gonna let a chance pass by like that. He took hold of the girl’s hand, realizing just how soft they actually were. He stared at it blankly for a bit before letting out the smallest of smiles form on his lips.
She shook her head and couldn't help but laugh a bit. "You're cute when you smile. I have a feeling you don't do that often, usually stone faced. I like your smile though, even if it's such a small and simple one." She then tousled her hair and smoothed it back a bit as slowly the sun dropped and her smile fell into an absolute O of awe, looking up at the stars as she looked up. "Up here there is less light pollution. It's gorgeous…" She said softly, her usually high wire sharp tone softening to that of silky whispers, amazed by the night sky. "I've never seen it like this really."
Although her words were fairly interesting, Connor didn’t seem to have paid attention to them as much as he did to what he had at hand, quite literally as well. He held onto her hand softly, slowly raising it up and to his lips. Of course, he’d worked fast, pecking the back of her hand quite quickly before turning to the stars.
“They are quite beautiful, aren’t they…?” He acted as if nothing had happened when everything had happened.
She gasped softly when she noticed him kissing her hand. It was barely a kiss, soft as a feather, but there it was. "Geeze you move fast hm?" She said with a smile, before lifting his hand and putting his arm around her shoulders. "Not that I mind or nothin'." Suddenly she got a phone call. "Nyello? Oh Hi! No I'm not getting off your roof. No. No~ Mhm…yeah. No! I'm getting myself a better mans than you on this roof. Uhuh. Make me. Oooh…fair and valid point. Fine fine we'll be outta your hair soon." She then hung up. "Toxic ex down there somehow knew that it's me on his house. I forgot to block his moms number. We outta head. We can go find somewhere else to star gaze if ya want. Or catch a bite. I'm not wasting this whole outfit." (Yes tis I, the ruiner of romance scenes with sudden movement to make that first kiss wait even longer and more agonizing.)

Of course something had to come up, it wasn’t like he was going to have some enjoyment any time ever. With all the things going on in his life, it’s quite ridiculous how he managed to get away from so many situations like these before. He slowly stood up and sighed, readjusting his clothes somewhat.
“By ‘somewhere else’, where exactly do you have in mind?” He’d asked, genuinely questioning as to where she wanted to take him to. Not that he minded or anything.
"Well. Any other roof except this one? Maybe go steal a truck with a huge flat bed and drive all the way out to where there's no more streetlights." She shrugged. "Honestly I'm hungry though. The nights still young. Ya never know by tomorrow you may regret kissing my hand,and so you'll never see or speak to me again. Let's just…see where life takes us."
He had flinched when she mentioned the possibility of him never meeting her again. That’s… no. He quickly and almost instinctively caught her hand which she kept beside herself.
”Don’t…” he let go of her hand, taking it to his face and covering his blushing face. ”…p-please don’t go…?”
Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked down. "Why are ya so attached all the sudden hm?" She gave his hand a squeeze. "No promises,Con Man. I move like butterflies, never staying long. But I'll stay with ya tonight. As long as ya want me. It's the best I can do for now."
She was right, why had he become attached so suddenly. There was no reason for it… it wasn’t like she meant a lot to him. Quite frankly, she didn’t mean anything to him otherwise he wouldn’t have tried to kill her in the first place… and yet his heart seemed to say otherwise. With a mixture of confusing emotions, he nodded.
”I suppose we should get going…”
With that, Evelyn slid down one of the columns holding up the roof and landed on the ground, and fixed her wig a bit. "Well cmon then! The diner closes at 9, and it's all the way on the other side of town!" Her eyes sparkled at the anticipation of good food, watching his vampiric red eyes. They were alluring, and deep. Already she had quite the fancy for them. She found him interesting, and exciting but in a different way. She then turned away and bullet fast was walking down the sidewalk, soon being swallowed up by the shadows inbetween the street lights.
As he didn’t want to be left behind, Connor quickly followed her steps. He wanted to spend time with her more, mostly because he needed a break from everything that was happening in his life right now. He found himself being pulled into the shadows alongside her. The diner closes at 9? He wondered what this night will bring him at the end of it. Though… it’d be nice if he didn’t drink a drop of alcohol. Although he looked like a fancy gentleman who would be a drinker, he was extremely sensitive to alcohol. Who knew what would happen if he’d gotten drunk and had fallen asleep in front of Evelyn.
(High key she'd just carry him back to her place and probably fall asleep cuddling him.) She hummed to herself. "Well shit. I should've brought my guitar. Oh well. Oh and, I hope you have an eye for good food, they have the best ribs in town." She smiled brightly, quite the pep in her step as she turned a corner, humming a bit, totally lost in her own world. It was cute to say the least. And interesting. She was one of the most dangerous woman in New York and yet, here she looked almost like a child hurrying itself along to a candy store.
Connor can’t help but smile lightly at her actions. How was she acting so happily just after a failed attempt to kill her ex. He went completely silent for a moment. Her ex? Does this mean she’s single now? What was he doing here then? He felt like he shouldn’t really be here with her anymore just because people might get the wrong idea.
”Try not to get stains on your clothes…” and yet, he felt safe around her.

"Pffft. I got cleanser at home, it's fine. Trust me. I grew up with 14 siblings, I can get a blood stain out faster then you can scream help. I'm pretty used to dirt on my shoes and grass on my knees." She shrugged as she turned another corner, and then plopped down at a bus stop, and began to dig around in her guitar case, pulling out 3 dollars. "I hope this will be enough…" She shrugged. "I know the bus driver, maybe he'll cut me some slack."
”I’ll be glad to pay for the ride.” Connor mentioned as he sat down beside her. From the looks of it, he’d have to pay for the food as well. Not that he minded or anything. Of course, he was just a murderer, nothing else. He wouldn’t dare think of sort of criminal he’d become if he started doing other crimes.
"No no it's alright. I dragged you into my trouble, the least I can do is pay for bus fair and food. It's a courtesy thing. I'm the nicest asshole, I think is a really good way to describe me. I really don't mind." She shrugged and began to kick her legs back and forth while sitting on the bench. She was rather spunky as well.
