Evelyn just continued her playing, but soon enough had to stop because her cat decided that now would be the time to pop out randomly from under the couch and attack her feet. "OW! Hey quit that!" She sighed and reached inbetween the couch cushions, pulling out a shoelace string. She began to drag it back and forth across the floor, luring the cat out only for it to dart back under. She huffed. "Preciouuuussss."
Seeing what the two were doing, Connor laughed softly as he continued to cook. When he finished, he took the two plates to the couch, sitting down and handing Evelyn one of the plates.
“Please enjoy it while it’s hot my love,” he spoke, her nickname coming out almost subconsciously now. The poached eggs on top of the entire structure of the egg benedicts were almost perfectly done.
"Oh wow…so this is fancy rich people food. I could get used to this." She began to eat it. "Oh holy fuck is this good. You sure do know how to cook."
Connor chuckled softly as he began to eat from his own plate as well.
“Trust me, I ain’t no ‘master chef’ or anything. I just learn from the internet,” he mentioned, genuinely thinking that he seasoned the eggs a bit too heavily with the black pepper and such. The poached egg though? He felt pretty pleased with that.
"No dude it's so friggin good." She scraped her plate and drained her milk, and leaned her head on his shoulder. "You're really good at cooking. So. Deal with it."
He quickly went to clean his plate and back to the couch so she could lean on his shoulder. He smiled at her, brushing her hair with his fingers. He looked down at her, his killing instincts telling him to snap her neck… which he, of course, did not attempt. For one, why would he? And two, she would notice immediately. It wasn’t like he wanted to kill her anymore. He continued to stroke her hand, sighing softly every now and then.
“Fine… I’ll accept the compliment,” he replied after realizing that he hadn’t said anything about her comment quite yet.
"Thank you. And thank you for not killing me,and taking care of me."She kissed his cheek softly, grabbed the guitar and began to play again. Just light background strumming.
As she continued to play, he also continued to stroke her hair. It was a nice sensation, something… no, a lot of things about her, was nice.
“You’re pretty great with the guitar, I’ll give you that,” he commented, brushing her hair with his fingers and running his hand through it.
"Huh? Oh thank ya sugar." She kissed his cheek again. "This is nothing. You should see me on stage. That's where I truly shine." She nodded, nuzzling into his hand. "And you are good at head rubs." She said with a laugh. "You're good to me in general. Thank you for that as well."
His body froze slightly when she talked about his apparent talent in the head rubbing side of physical touch. He smiled and continued, humming a soft song to himself rather than to Evelyn.
"What no you're welcome? Rude." She turned away with a pout. "Fine then. I'll go snuggle my cat instead." She got up and suddenly cold, got redressed, and went to go find Precious. Of course Evelyn was only teasing and at a mention of her name she'd return to her lovers arms. But she always did believe in working for the things that are good in your life, and she was no exception. If he wanted her and wanted to keep her he'd have to work for it.
“Evelyn—“ he immediately called after her, using his softer, more polite, tone to call her. He knew that she was teasing but he also wanted to see how she would react to him using that tone.
She flinched a bit and looked back at him, pausing at her doorframe and looking back a bit dramatically over her shoulder. "Whaaaat?~" She purred with a giggle, her playful nature quickly returning after being caught off guard by his gentle more Daddy Dom voice. Of course, she wouldn't let that side of her slip out quite yet, wanting him to slowly get used to things.
“Come back—“ He used the exact same tone to call her again, patting his lap as if giving her an invitation to come sit on his lap. He was just hoping that nothing bad would happen… right?
She looked at him doing a duck lipped pout, and sighed as she went into her room, picked up Precious, and walked back to the couch. She then plopped into his lap. "So rude. My compliments are as rare as gold don't you know?"
He sighed happily as she came back to him. “I know now. Thank you dear…” He smiled and wrapped his arms around her again. He felt a sudden jolt of weird sensation when Precious nuzzled against the back of his hand. That… that made him laugh quite brightly.
( I forgot you responded) Evelyn blushed at his laughter and smiled. "Your laugh even fits you. It sounds like breaking base strings and shattering glass. Like a whole orchestra coming to a rather clashing stop." She smiled at her own poetry, and then kissed him rather abruptly as the cat nuzzled into him and curled up against his thigh for pets.
“I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not but I’ll assume that it is,” He shrugged softly before laughing a bit at Precious, reaching to pet the small fluffball. He thought of something and sighed. “You would rather stay here than move somewhere else, correct?”
"What no I hate this fucking part of town." She said with a growl to her voice, rolling her eyes as she settled in against him. "Geeze wanting to move in together already? I ain't complaining though." She said with a smile, nuzzling his neck a bit.
“Uhm… yeah. I was thinking that moving into my house—or at least the loft I have—might be better,” he mentioned as he stroked her hair gently, enough to feel it but not to ruin it. “You’ll shine more inside of my home I would say… not that you don’t shine already,” he laughed softly.
She blushed. "Dunno if I told you this already but Evelyn in Hebrew means First Light. So I'm already the sun. Can't get any brighter then that, here anyways. Anyways yeah I'd love to move in with you, and obviously Precious likes you so she'll have no complaints. And hopefully you live close to bars which means me and my band will be able to spread our sound more. Which is great because singing at shitty little dive bars isn't getting me very far."
(Your dude has been doing a heck ton of homeworkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk~~ ;w;)
“Ah, yeah. There are plenty of bars around where I live, but for obvious reasons, I don’t go into them,” he smiled softly before glancing around her ‘home’. “We’ll move together when you can move around better, alright?” His eyes fell to hers again, leaning down and kissing her forehead.
