"What kind?" Blade said, intrigued and still wiping stardust off of her person.
"What kind?" Blade said, intrigued and still wiping stardust off of her person.
"Well…." Danica blinks, surprised that anyone was interested, "Every once in a while, a person is born with a "gift." We call them Giftens. I'm one of them actually….. but each Giften has a different power. Like mine is the power of night and day. By day I can light myself on fire, give light to plants, and shoot fireballs from my hands. Like I said before, I cannot touch water or it will burn. At night, I'm different. I can turn invisible in any shade of shadow, I can defy gravity, and any form of heat will melt me like wax." She shivers, "That almost happened once as a form of torture……"
Blade winces. "That's cool… but also terrifying."
Rayla pops back in with a cloud of purple and orange dust.
"Hey, I'm back!"
Danica blinks again, "Oh, welcome back. Can we go back to my realm now? I can't imagine what Kathy and Phoenix are doing to my house. Probably raiding the kitchen….."
Rayla shrugs.
"Sure!" she grins, grabbing Danica. They simply pop back into the woman's house.
Danica stumbles, letting out a short, strangled cry.
"That…. will take some getting used to. Not that i want to do it again…….. ever."
Rayla grins.
"Don't worry. I only do it to people I don't like - which, by the way, if you happen to somehow make your way onto the list of people I don't like, I will be doing much more than simply popping you between realms - so you're safe."
"Good to know…." Danica looks at Rayla carefully, a new-found respect for the mysterious and cheerful girl.
Rayla grins and starts humming, drawing something in the air with the tip of her index finger.
Phoenix wanders out of the kitchen, a piece of bread stuffed in his mouth, only to stop short at the sight of the girls.
"Oh, yow bawk," He mumbles through a mouthful of food. Hastily, he chews and swallows before he gives Danica a sheepish grin, "Sorry. I, uh… got hungry. What happened with you guys?"
(sorry I wasn't around yesterday, lol, I was busy)
"Just traveled to another realm to see a dragon made of black hole," Blade said casually, tossing herself back on the couch. Luna curled up beside her.
Rayla smiles.
"Blade just about summed it up." she says cheerfully, continuing to draw.
Phoenix’s eyebrows shoot up, and he looks impressed.
“Huh,” he says, taking another bite of his bread. He chews thoughtfully for a moment before he adds, “I have a dragon.”
Rayla turns and squeals, accidentally activating her unfinished symbol.
She puts up a finger to stall Pheonix.
"Hold that thought." she says quietly, turning back to the sigil, which had now turned an unpleasant shade of fuchisa.
"Well shit." she sighs, grabbing Pheonix and blinking very, very far away from the house.
"Sorry." she says sheepishly, as the house explodes in an explosion that they could see, even as far away as they were.
Phoenix stares at the blooming, multi-colored fireball for almost a full minute before he slowly turns to Rayla, his expression blank.
“Honestly,” he deadpans, “At this point, I don’t know if I have it in me to be shocked.”
Then he stuffs the last piece of bread in his mouth and chews aggressively.
(I just realized Phoenix is almost always eating, I swear that’s not apart of his original character XD)
"Yeah. . . so funny story, what I was doing wasn't just drawing, I was trying to solve a complex mathematical-theological equation to determine whether or not a demigod like me could potentially fall - or depending on how you view it, ascend - to the rank of Demon Lord. Turns out I forgot to carry a 0 so, um. . . the equation broke the liminal space that was the house and kablooey." Rayla chuckles abashedly.
"I can fix it, though, don't worry." she says cheerfully, waving a hand. The house - and the surrounding 40 mile deep hole - were restored to normal.
Phoenix looks forlornly at his empty hands; he needs more food to process all of this. As he and Rayla walk back to the house, he sighs.
“You know, here I was thinking my friends and I had crazy magic,” he says, “But Sheasan. The universe is a messed-up place.”
"Oh please. I'm extreme, even by the standards of demigods. I've just spent most of my life honing and practicing magic. I'm not anything special. I got this power through hard work. And by killing a lot of people. But that's besides the point." she chuckles.
Phoenix doesn't respond, but only rolls his eyes to heaven as though silently asking the Creator why he was here. He suddenly feels very tired.
The burden of sanity, He thinks ruefully.
Rayla hums, then grabs Pheonix and blinks them back to the house.
Blade poofs back to the house. "What the heck?" She asked.
"Yeah, um. . . I kinda made a mistake and vaporized the house as well as a good chunk of the surrounding world." Rayla explains cheerfully.
Danica walks out of the kitchen, looking as if nothing has happened, with a plate of food in both her hands.
"Hungry anyone?" She asks, "I was bored so I made dinner."
