"What do you need me to do?"
"What do you need me to do?"
She snarled and turned back to where Agdrin remained on the distant island. Ignoring him. Her siblings joined with her at her sides.
Rhydar was closest to Runner, and he offered a sympathetic wince. "She's… not in a good mood at the moment. Don't take it personally."
Magnus was at Rhydar's side. "I'll need to scry to find his location without being noticed."
Isla nodded and got into a fighting position. "We'll have your back."
Wolf watched over his twin carefully, then nodded. "Aye."
(where's Alex?)
His jaw clenched slightly when he saw Rhydar, but said and did nothing.
(( I haven't a clue
((I miss Runner's pan
(Lol, just wait)
Magnus leaned over the lapping shore, making sure he had a constant view of the water. Demons lurched forward, screaming and clawing their way at the group. A thick, metal pan appeared in Cinthia's hand, and she handed it to Runner. "You might want this back," she ground out as she turned to the demons. The siblings formed a protective circle around Magnus, who was now helpless as he stared unblinking at the water.
He smiled. "I missed this." He then hefted it, smashing it over the head of the nearest demon, crushing its skull immediately.
Everything had happened so fast. Sakuya had sat down for just a moment, resting her leg, when wouldn't ya know it, demonic beasts loomed down menacingly from the trees. Her blue eyes shifted upwards, body trembling ever so slightly. She was indeed a deep sea dragon, but to be caught in her more fragile, human form, it was a death sentence. It didn't help that Sakuya hardly did any kind of fighting. The most she did was rely on her instincts; fight or flight. Anytime given, she usually chose 'flight', only attacking to make an opening to escape. Plus, being a top predator in the ocean, Sakuya didn't have to worry too much about being challenged.
She was honestly at a loss at what to do. The female's body started to tremble even more violently. Her crippled, left leg refused to move from where she sat. Feeling a sudden weight on her shoulder made her flinch…but that presence, she knew it.
Her blue eyes slowly looked back to the owner of the hand on her shoulder. Behind her, stood a unnaturally tall male. He glanced down to Sakuya, giving her a soft kind smile.
"Thought I felt your presence nearby Sakuya. Sorry for being a bit late, wife threw a damn frying pan at my head, and of course it was a cast iron one. Still don't really understand how 'human' pregnancy works."
"Hydrox…" Sakuya seemed on the verge of tears. She truly was terrified, not knowing anyone too well. The most she knew was that she had offered transportation, and now she was tossed into the fray.
As for the man, he lightly patted her head, though turning his gaze to the ones around. His eyes narrowed, eyes swirling blue, to yellow, then back to blue again. The once round, calm pupils had narrowed into narrow slits.
"Let's just hope I don't have to show my true colors…don't know who the hell all these people are," he mumbled softly under his breath, "Rather them not know what I am…for safety reasons of course."
((CAST IRON IM CRYING
((THAT'S RUNNER'S ONLY WEAPON
(XD OMG that's perfect!!)
Rhydar shot into the fray, bearing sharp daggers in each hand as he gracefully danced between demons, slashing their necks and decapitating their heads.
Isla created a doubled ended spear and spun it around her head, jabbing her enemies and vaulting over them with her weapon. She used the stick to toss them around and keep them away from her.
Wolf drew a sword and joined the two, hacking though them as if they were stalks of wheat. Cinthia waited, staying by Magnus's side should any demons slip through her siblings' fingers.
Though they all could've turned into their true forms, it would've been too dangerous for the mortals around them–not to mention how unstable some were.
Suddenly, he took a full blast of fire from one of the demons, partially engulfed for a moment before it all seemed to be sucked into his mouth. He turned his head to the attacker and a jet of incredibly high-pressured water shot from his mouth, blasting a hole through its chest and knocking the one behind it on its ass.
Isla, who had been about to disembowel the demon, nodded at Runner. "Nice one."
He nodded. "Just getting started!" He then spun around continuing to take down everything in sight, moving with surprising grace for fuck an nonathletic-looking body.
Cinthia, noting a new presence, turned to where Sakuya and her friend were. She shifted slightly to cover Magnus, ready for an attack if need be.
((OOC: Well, back home, Hydrox runs a Inn in the village. So the kitchen has an assortment of 'goodies' that have been thrown at him before. Not that it really does anything to him lol. One time he was chased around by a villager with a spoon cause he still had no idea about 'humans' or how he was supposed to act. He was caught looking through a window by accident))
Seemed, since they were on the sidelines for the most part, they were seen as easy pickings. One of the demonic beasts suddenly launched itself towards Sakuya and Hydrox. The female curled up tightly as the muscular male suddenly stood up, a powerful hand wrapping around the creature's throat. It gave a choked snarl, clawing at his arm, trying to free itself. Though it was silenced by a swift movement of Hydrox's hand, snapping its neck. He tossed the limp body to the side.
"Really? Typical demon, all brute, no intelligence whatsoever. Man, I've had a harder time getting rid of rats."
(Wow, you actually picked out the right kind of demon in this scenario. In my story, they're called Nagabonds, mindless foot soldiers that are typically used in situations like this)
Another demon swooped over the squabble. This one was more sleek and reptilian, with wings for arms and only a pair of back legs. It's long neck swiveled its narrow head around, surveying the battle. It caught sight of Cinthia, who signaled to it, then let out a mighty roar. A ripple of fear seemed to pass through the mass of demons.
The new demon stayed in the air, but it occasionally plummeted into the fray to blast a cold, black mist that killed everything it touched. The demon was careful to stay away from the royals and Runner.
Runner squinted up at the demon flying. "Cin, hit me with a blast!"
She whipped over to him in alarm. "NO! That's Malaki, my familiar! He's on our side"
(Eli?)
(I'm mixin up characters, fuck)
He tilted his head, distracted enough to get caught in the jaw by a stray fist.
Rhydar was soon there, catching Runner in one hand while the boy (he's a boy to Rhydar) stumbled back and beheading the demon with the dagger in his other hand. The demon disintegrated, and Rhydar steadied Runner. "Watch it. Don't want to find yourself demon food, now do we?" He flashed a grin and hopped back into the fight.
(Jeez, their names are similar)
