Airborn by kenneth oppel
Anything by Marc Secchia (though his style can take some getting used to, he generally has amazing plots, and he also has one series based in ethiopia which makes me very happy)
And I really liked the Edge Chronicles as well
Oh and the Mysterious Benedicts society, which also might be seen as written for younger audiences but its just so. Entertaining. To. Read.

YES! YEEEESS! Jonathan Stroud is a serious contender for my favorite author!! Did you finish the whole series?
'Rebecca' by Daphne du Maurier is good if you're into classical literature.
'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' by Seth Graeme Smith are fun reads.
'The Secret History' by Donna Tartt, I read this months ago and I still think about it daily.
'House of Leaves' by Mark Z Danielewski (fair warning: will make you terrified of your own house).
If you're into YA, 'The Young World' series by Chris Weitz is interesting.
Bloodline by Claudia Gray
Turtle In Paradise and Penny From Heaven by Jennifer L. Holm

The Conqueror's Saga by Kiersten White is a new favorite of mine…;)
I liked 'The Mortality Doctrine' series by James Dashner
Also, 'The Rithmatist' by Brandon Sanderson
I assumed that The Diviners by Libba Bray was a lot more popular than it is. There's barely any fandom which is really sad because it's AMAZING!! Definitely up there with my favorite series of all time!
honestly the sequels to Ender's Game are so underappreciated! most people don't even know they exist
The Immortal Secrets Of Nicholas Flamel need more recognition in life.
Also the Pendragon series by D.J. MacHale. (Same guy who wrote Encyclopedia Brown)

Also, 'The Rithmatist' by Brandon Sanderson
I love any series by James Dashner, but most people only know Maze Runner. Kinda sad.
The Blackthorn Key, Zeroes, I Am Number Four, Keys to the Kingdom, Masterminds, and City of Ember are some of my favourite book series that I don't see mentioned much! I'm probably older than the target audience for most of them, but I still love reading them. :P

Rage of the Dragons by Evan Winter
Damsel and Red Hood, both by Elana K. Arnold.
the princess saves herself in this one by Amanda Lovelace
A really fast read about resilience and becoming your own savior, written in verse, first book of the Woman Are Some Type of Magic series.
The Witch Doesn't Burn In This One is better, imo.
