ooh my friend is super into Scythe. i read big books fast so im thinking about reading it as well. would you recommend it, and what is the theme/plot without spoilers?
Scythe is one of my favourite series of all time so yes, I absolutely recommend it. Basically, the plot is that the story takes place in a distant future where all of humanity's problems have been solved. So no disease, poverty, war, etc. which also means no death either. So you have these people called Scythes whose job is basically to kill people in order to keep the population from getting out of control.
The story focusses on two characters, Citra and Rowan who are chosen to apprentice to a Scythe. However it's not really the norm for a Scythe to have to apprentices so it's decided that at the end of their training one will become a Scythe and will have to kill the other.
