"Benbenben," Silver said, scrambling after him. "Ben, you're still recovering from last night. You shouldn't train us. You might get more hurt."
Miki kept shoving her cereal in her mouth. "I ju' star'ed ea'ing!"
"Benbenben," Silver said, scrambling after him. "Ben, you're still recovering from last night. You shouldn't train us. You might get more hurt."
Miki kept shoving her cereal in her mouth. "I ju' star'ed ea'ing!"
He ignores her, opening the door and heading down the stairs. “I’m fine. You guys will need me to go easy anyways.” He growls.
Kissa follows after them, obviously way too excited. She runs up to walk beside him. “Can I go first?!”
Miki groaned and carried her bowl downstairs, dropping to the floor as soon as she reached the basement, still eating.
Silver grimaced at Kissa's question. "Ben, Kissa will kill us all."
“Kissa,” He snaps back at Sil, reaching the bottom of the stairs, “is not training you. Nevertheless, you may still die.” He gives her a momentary grin and Cage sits down by Miki, crossing his arms across his stomach.
"But won't we be… okay." Her voice trailed away. "Please don't kill me, Ben."
"If he kills you I will avenge you, Sil." Miki said.
“Alright.” He calls, turning to face the group. He glares over each of them. “Silver, you die first. Come here.”
Cage gives a light gasp, then whispers, “I loved you while I knew you sil.”
Kissa bites her lip.
I wanted to be first.
A look of panic and horror decended on Silver's face. "Why me??? Why can't you start on Kissa??? She'll love it???" She gestured toward her. "She probably knows more about fighting anyway."
Ben sighs, "Silver, come on. I won't actually hurt you." He gives a light grin. "Rules are: no wings, no powers, and no weapons. This is basics for if you have to fight in public. The moment the public sees you're different is the moment you have millions more enemies."
Kissa takes note in her head and Cage leans against the wall.
Silver slowly stepped toward him, realizing it wouldn't do any good to keep insisting Kissa go instead of her. "Okay. No powers. Oh boy, I'm gonna lose."
Miki grinned and ate her cereal. "You gotta keep it fair for us normal people."
He gives her a good once over. "Before we start, you need to know that elbows and knees are very painful and two of the best to use. Don't go easy on me."
She's small, I'm fine.
"Try going for the neck or knees at first, since they're easy to hurt and normally uncovered. Eyes are harder to get to, but go for those if you can."
He settles into an offensive stance, "I'll come at you first. Ready?"
Kissa stares wide-eyed, mentally taking note on everything he says.
Gabriel glares from the stairs, still invisible.
No way I'm fighting him.
"Wait, can I fly??" Silver squeaked, more to gain time than anything. "Even if I don't use my powers I still have my wings and they're just extra limbs, right??"
Miki groaned and rolled her eyes. "Oh my word, Ben should just attack her." She muttered to Cage. "She's gonna flip out if he just keeps talking."
He huffs, "No wings, no powers. Now are you ready?"
If I just lunge at her she's going to use her powers.
Cage covers his mouth, trying not to giggle. "Also, how is he going to train Gabe? Cause we're never gonna find him."
Silver grimaced again, slowly raising her fists, but not at all ready or willing. "Okay. Yeah. I guess." She pinched her eyes shut.
"Oh my word," Miki groaned again and handed her bowl to Cage. "Hold my cereal." She got up and walked up behind Ben. "Sil, watch. Like this." She rammed her knee into the back of Ben's knee and swung her arm around, thudding her elbow into his chest with all her body weight behind it, knocking him straight backwards and onto the floor.
Stunned, but not completely out of the game, he quick swipes her feet out from underneath her, sitting up and shoving her down on her front (not back) in a second. He grabs a handful of her hair, pressing her hard against the ground but keeping her head up. His chest aches from her hit and he breathes heavily. "I don't recall saying it was your turn, Red." he growls.
"BEN" Silver shrieked. "Miki you can't–BEN NO."
"She would never have attacked you." Miki grunted from under him. "And now she knows how to do the knee thing."
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Silver yelled, frozen in place in horror.
Cage lets out a small shriek, hugging Kissa’s leg subconsciously. She kicks him away.
“Ew, Cage!”
Ben huffs, letting go of Miki and pulling himself to his feet, offering her his hand. “I don’t care. Silver is first, and I certainly don’t need you teaching her-“
“But isn’t Miki her sister…” Gabriel cuts him off, slowly turning visible on the stairs.
Ben glares over at him, eyes wide.
What he speaks again???
“That doesn’t mean Miki is good at fighting.”
Gabriel crosses his arms, leaning against the wall. “And that doesn’t mean you can ban her from teaching Sil a few tricks.”
Miki dusted her hands off. "I'm not good at fighting but I could march up to you and flip you on your back before you noticed?" She grabbed her cereal from Cage and ate a bite. "Worst fighter ever. Definitely."
Silver let out a shuddering breath. "Why does all this have to involve half killing each other??"
Ben shoots Miki a glare. Kissa raises a hand. “I’ll go first if sil doesn’t want to!”
Ben sighs.
Silver and Miki are going to be the death of me.
He looks over Kissa who stands straighter and looks determined as soon as his eyes fall on her.
Who am I kidding.
“Fine. Silver, go hype yourself up. Kissa, come here.”
Silver breathed a sigh of relief and backed toward the wall. Miki crammed another mouthful of cereal into her mouth and grabbed Sil's arm before she could sit. "Nope. Come on. I'm gonna teach you how to throw punch so you can beat Ben up."
Ben again takes an offensive stance as Kissa stands in front of him.
She grits her teeth.
This is it. Show them all that you are amazing.
Cage bites his lip and scoots up against the wall.
Im scared.
Ben starts towards her in a jog, not wanting to come in her too quickly and overwhelm her since he was going easy on them.
She first goes to punch, a feeble move, but seems to expect it when he catches her hand and pins her arm behind her back. She throws her head back, slamming it into his face while he’s momentarily at her height to pin her. He lets go, taking a few steps back and covering his bloody nose.
She turns, going to kick, but he dodges and shoves her off balance.
Silver gasped, watching Ben and Kissa as Miki dragged her over to the other side of the room. "Miki, they're gonna–"
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Goodness, Sil, if any of us can handle being beaten half to death it's Ben and Kiss. Now come on." she stopped and stepped a few feet away from her sister. "I taught you to fight before and I'm gonna do it again."
Silver groaned and rolled her eyes. "Miki–"
Miki didn't give her time to finish speaking. She swung her hand, flat like a karate chop, at Silver's ear. Instinctively Silver froze her hand, eyes flying wide and Miki's arm stopped a few inches from her face.
"No powers!" Miki yelled, using Silver's hold on her arm to give her the angle she needed to jump up and swing a kick at her ribs.
Kiss knees Ben in the stomach only to get a punch to the cheek in response. It tears her skin barely, and he wraps her in a choke hold. She sinks her teeth into his arm and he lets go, taking a step back. “Ah! KISSA.”
She turns, her cheeks red. “What??! They’re pointy for a reason! I should use them for defense, right?!” She half hisses, half shrieks.
He sighs, rubbing the bloody bite. “Maybe don’t try to eat me next time.”
“You punched me!”
Silver glared at Miki, getting annoyed, and grabbed her sister's leg, shoving her away and knocking her off balance so she fell on her butt. Ben's yell snapped her attention across the room.
"Kissa, you BIT HIM??" She yelped.
Miki lay on the floor and sighed loudly. "Silver, you're gonna die the second our lives are in danger." She swiped her leg under Silver's feet, making her fall straight on top of her.
"Miki, he's–" Silver snarled at her and grabbed the front of Miki's shirt, beating her wings to lift them both off the ground. Once Silver had her footing again she threw Miki to the side, turning her attention to Ben for another moment. He was already covered in blood on his face and his arm.
Blood continues to ooze from the deep bite. He presses his shirt against it. “Geez. If I pass out it’s your fault.”
She bites her lip. “Should I grab the first aid? Ben?” She asks, already heading towards the stairs and up them.
“Vampires.” He mutters under his breath. Cage covers his eyes, his stomach churning. “You Okay Ben????”
Miki lay on the floor and groaned. "BEN STOP DISTRACTING YOUR DAUGHTER SHE'S ALREADY DIED LIKE FIVE TIMES."
Silver scoffed and shook her head, approaching Ben. "Are you okay? That looks really nasty. She bit you hard."
