Any other free drawing apps?
I have a touch screen laptop that I use with a pen as well and I use krita with it
What pen do you use? Mine doesnt always work with my laptop screen but it helps when I'm taking notes in class lol
I have a surface laptop that I saved up for so the pen is meant for my specific kind of laptop
Ooohhhh makes sense lol
Some good free apps are
MediBang/FireAlpaca
Krita
MyPaint
IbisPaintX
Verve Painter (better for playing around with than actual drawing imo, but still pretty great)
SpeedyPainter
Pinta/Phierha (very outdated and not translated well, but still works wonderfully)
NekoPaint (Also not translated well, but great software nonetheless)
Milton
There are others but I can’t think of them at the moment, I’d have to check my computer
Update on the tablet: it arrived!
I got it set up and synced with my computer yesterday, plus I installed Krita (it wasn't a free program but it had good ratings). I'm now testing out the program. The tablet works wonderfully (it's an Intuos from WACOM) and I'm uber excited.
Any tutorial basics I should test out on Krita before I start experimenting with art?
Krita should be free if you download it from the official website…
Did they change something?
Wait, Krita is definitely a free programme. Where did you find it?

Also any tutorials from Sara Tepes or David Revoy are good

It wouldn't download on my compter (said it wasn't compatible) so I had to use the Krita app from the microsoft store so it would actually download and work on my laptop.
It was like 8 dollars (including tax) so it's not that big of a deal
Oh okay, I did read that they were charging for it in the store for some reason
As long as you're okay with it I guess
But this is super exciting!! I hope you have fun with it!
Thank you. I hope I have some fun with it too.
And thank you Nutella for those tutorial videos!!
Another update: I made a thing
but
how do I show you guys?
I usually put it onto google drive and turn link sharing on
I've also used imgur to put photos on here
Or just put the picture in a character gallery or something and put the link here
I'm sorry, this may be a really stupid question but I'm a dumbass so…
How do I go about moving the image to any of those places?
Oh well for google drive you need a google account and then go into google drive, once your there you click the rainbow plus button that says new, then file upload, then you find your photo and double click on it, then wait for it to upload and after it's done to get the shareable like you find the photo in your google drive and double click it to make it bigger, then click the 3 dots in the corner, click share, click get shareable link, and then post the link in here
Or in imgur you just go onto the website, click the new post button in the top corner by the logo, and then you can click choose photo/video, then find your image and put it in, then post it and a pop up will appear where you can copy the link
If your wondering how to make your drawing from a program to a picture you just click save as on your drawing and then then change the save as type section to png or jpeg
Hopefully this is helpful in some way?
(I would recommend saving the thing as a krita document and then exporting it to a png, just so you have something with the layers intact in case you want to work on it more. And in case you're unsure of how to upload images to one of your galleries, there's a guide about that over in the character discussion)
Thank you guys so much!!! I'm not very good at navigating technology so you guys are lifesavers to me
Okay, I think I got it figured out now…
It looks great!
Thank you!
I know it's super simple but it took me like 3 hours with just the fountain alone, the effects were another hour or so
I love it!!
What was your favourite part of your first digital art experience?
My favorite part? Probably being able to erase and experiment without fear of making the template completely unusable ever again.
Not to mention I had access to any possible art tool I could ask for and then some
