or go digital and use a million layers like me
if you have a window you can use it as a light box, just lightly tack or tape the edges of it and another page and you can see the lines through to the second sheet of paper to trace and/or line. same goes for a tablet or any screen that has a bright setting, just be careful not to press very hard to protect the screen.
I can't sketch on digital to save my life lmao
I drew a side profile for once. How does it look?

I think it looks good! Pretty messy tbh, but I'm so bad at clean line art that I probably shouldn't talk lol.
But yeah, you can clearly see what's going on, the tears are amazing and their face expresses a lot of emotion, which is something I've seen a lot of artists struggle with. Good job!
Ngl I love the messy lineart
to me it kinda gives off the appearance of unstableness and like,,, i can see them shaking inside my head
and yea as @Fangirl616 said the emotion and face is vv gud kjlf
I'm so jealous of people who can draw side profiles honestly
oh same. y'all are too powerful

I love the lighting! Its dark but you can still see what's happening. Also the hands look great! For posting photos, just copy and paste the photo after u upload it.
I know that there are some things that need erasing, (and this is actually fanart), but, uh… how does it look?
(Also idk how to make the image smaller lol)
The perspective of the faces look really good, but the anatomy is like, super wonky.
Your faces are tucked into the necks, which are slightly too big. That might be the trick of the angles, but their necks look TH I C C. I think drawing shoulders would help a lot, not only with the angles (i.e. one hanging over the other in a threatening way (massive shoulders help in this)), but maybe with how yourself is looking at it.
The only big fix I would make is their jaws, which again is listed above with just a picture. And no one’s jaw is that defined like, ever. They also sort of have same face syndrome?
But their emotions are great!
Also, foreheads are definitely a thing. Guys hate having hair on their foreheads (a lot of them, anyway). Without the defined forehead, they look like they have pill-shaped heads rather than a human-shaped one.

Ok, thank you for the advice! I didn't even think about the necks, and now that you point it out, I can see how the jaws need work. I'll work on it!
(Seriously, thanks)
nidhsudbkbjsbdjsidis i hate it i hate it i hate it
I don't think it's so bad.
Maybe take more time to let it dry and go over some parts a few more times to get a more opaque look. Referencing a day/stormy landscape wouldn't hurt either
low quality progress shot
am i going blind or does this look really, really, really hecking bad, especially compared to literally everything else I've ever drawn
please be honest cause i don't want to spend hours upon hours finishing it if it's not going to be worth the time
I wouldn't say it looks "really hecking bad" at all, a lot of it looks fantastic, but there does seem to be some muddyness/overrendering with the skin tone from what I can tell? please take this with all the grains of salt you can imagine, but some of the transition tones, especially around the forehead and chin, seem slightly desaturated which gives her a bit of an ashy look.
I agree with above. I think some richer colours and sharper contrast would help to improve the face a bit
