Hey all! Just released a new update that's full of new features for the forums. There's a full blog post with all of the new features, but here's a quick run-down for you busy bees:

  • You can now save entire threads as documents in your account (which also displays who wrote each post when you hover over them in the document). Click "Export to document" in the actions menu at the top of any discussion to try it.
  • You can now view entire threads as a single plaintext document by clicking "View as plaintext" in a thread actions menu. This'll build a printable text-only view that combines every post on every page into a big text file for you to read.
  • Likewise, you can also view entire threads as a "chat log" view by, you guessed it, clicking "View as chat log" in the same menu. This is similar to the above but also includes the username of who wrote each paragraph instead of just the post text.
  • Linking to your notebook pages on a line of its own will now generate a clickable, rich preview of that page. See?
  • Likewise, linking to a notebook page in the middle of text will generate a colored text link instead (like Aesma Novak or Hazy Forest) that'll automatically update the text if you change the page's name later. [Note that these won't necessarily show up correctly in the post preview while writing, but will work when you actually post. :) ]
  • These rich preview cards also work for linking to some other sites, like Wikipedia, Google Docs, and Google Drive.
  • Your "favorite page type" (in your settings) now creates a little icon for that page type next to your name on the forums that links to your public pages of that type.
  • Bugfixes, performance improvements, UI polish, security updates, etc

More coming soon, but I hope y'all enjoy these in the time being! :)

Hey, andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer), uh, I got two documents that I'm guessing were created by export to document (and to be honest, i have no idea how that happened because as I far as I remember I have not used those options at all) and I'm having problems deleting them both. They're apparently very long documents and every time I try to delete it, it uh crashes before I'm allowed to do anything. I was wondering if there was a way to delete them or do, I just, ignore them?

EDIT: Nvm, I managed to delete them. Apparently, all I had to do was delete the documents from my phone instead of my Chromebook
