I already have an RP going under this prompt with @/Naize_lupin, but I really like the idea and want to explore it. I would like an RP sample before we jump in, but I'm not too picky.
Welcome to the High Fae Winter Solstice ball, a masquerade where the nobility mingles and revels in the longest night of the year. This year, however, is different. There is a prophecy that tells of the fall of the High Fae and the daylight to the Nether Fae unless one from each side joins together on the night of the Winter Solstice. Nether Fae are not invited to the ball, but that does not mean there aren't a few in attendance. The radiant High Fae require their entertainment, after all…
(Dude I saw your other rp and tbh I’m really interested-)
(YAY! I'm so glad. I've seen your other rp's, so we're good to go if you want! I don't have a character temp prepped, but I can make one, or we could just jump in, whatever you prefer)
(Alrighty! Uhhh I’m fine with jumping in or with templates, but I’m just not sure which character to use ^^; I have a half-elf and a tiefling looking character? Lol)
(Okay! My character is half-incubus, which I am categorizing as Nether Fae. You could use whichever character you prefer and we can work it out from there!)
(Hmm I think I’ll just make a new character from scratch for this. Is it alright if we use templates?)
(Sure! Let me get one up)
(I literally stole this from an rp you're in)

(PFFT thank you XD love Damien btw)
Name: Anthurium Dali
Age: 24
Race: High Fae with some dryad blood
Gender/pronouns: non-binary, he/they
Sexuality: pan
Personality: he’s not shy, just rather quiet and introverted. He’s also intelligent, and calculating and strategic when he needs to be. However, they’re also caring and loyal to those they have forged strong bonds to. He’s observant, curious, and knowledge-seeking; he loves to read and interview people about what they know. They also have a tendency to be very flirtatious, even if he doesn’t have an attraction to the person he’s flirting with. However, if angered or inconvenienced, they can turn their way with words into a way to verbally destroy whoever incited his anger. Luckily, he’s a fairly patient person, so this doesn’t happen too often.
Appearance: Anthurium has a height of about 6’2 and a angular, triangular-shaped body. He has olive skin with white-ish freckles and long, pointy ears. Their eyes are a vibrant green color, and their hair is white with greenish tips, and goes down to just past his butt. They usually wear it loose and long, but for occasions such as the Winter Solstice ball, they like to weave braids and jewelry into it. He tends to present as masculine.
Backstory: Anthurium was raised as an only child in the House of Dali. Dryads have present in their family tree for centuries, as the House of Dali made a deal with them a while back. This deal is kept a highly guarded secret though, and even Anthurium doesn’t know it. Ever since his father passed away a few years ago, they have been taking care of their mother, who is ill and in need of extra care. However, Anthurium still attends balls and parties and such to maintain the House’s reputation (at his mother’s request), despite not really caring for such events.
Other: he has strong healing abilities, and can heal both plants and animals, including Fae. They also have an affinity with snapdragons, and these plants will grow around him and on his body whenever they are feeling a strong emotion. Some fire resistance, too.
(I need a nickname for this boi cuz I can’t write Anthurium every time ;-;)
(I love him! Uhhh i don't know what would work as a nickname. Yours is so detailed lmao. Are you ready for the starter, or do you have any questions/concerns/ideas?)
(Thank you! Lol oh well. Ummmm I can’t think of any questions at the moment, you can start! Though I might have questions once you post it ahaha)
Stepping into the light of the ballroom, Damian shivers, both with anticipation and the chill of the night. A black raven mask adorned his face, and swaths of glittering midnight blue material covered little of his body, exposing most of his pale skin. He was far less decorated than most guests, but that was intentional since he was only here to, shall we say, entertain the nobility attending the ball. That and he could feed tonight and feel complete. Swaying his hips as he meandered through the crowd of High Fae, Damien let himself smile. Emotions would be so high, and many would be drunk enough not to notice the half-incubus draining their energy.
Anthurium stood off to the side, away from the crowd. A white deer mask covered his face, it’s carved golden antlers extending above his head. They were dressed in white too, with little accents of gold throughout, and a glass of champagne rested in his hand. They simply leaned against the wall, watching the other guests with the advantage of anonymity. The other guests’ masquerade costumes were beautiful, and lovely to watch move. This was his favorite part of any event he went to, just people-watching and not having to talk to anybody.
Sure enough, one of the guests caught their eye. He was showing more skin than the others, and the little dark fabric that was covering it draped artfully around him, showing off his lovely figure. The raven mask was a nice touch, adding an air of mystery to the person wearing it. Anthurium let their gaze linger on him for a while.
Gods, did he feel good, feel energized. Damien nearly wanted to kraa with delight like the bird whose visage he wore. It was rare that he could feed to his heart's content like this. Between the general atmosphere and the appreciative attention he and his costume were garnering, it was practically a buffet for the incubus. Casting out his sense for anyone who felt particularly compelling, Damien noted that someone was watching him. Moving around through the crowd, the ravenette saw a rather beautiful fae dressed in white and gold. A pleased smile came onto his face as he sashayed over to the fae.
When they realized the fae was moving towards him, Anthurium sighed. And so their peaceful solitude would be disrupted. Maybe staring at the figure had been a mistake. He wished he could just walk away, but he could not; they had learned it would break some social rule Anthurium didn’t understand, and make the House of Dali look undignified. So, he stayed where they were, and took a sip of champagne to prepare himself.
"Hello there," Damien greeted demurely, getting close enough to the fae that had caught his attention. He tilted his head to look at the other from under his lashes. "I saw you from across the way. How are you enjoying the Winter Solstice festivities?" He was intrigued by this fae who stood to the side but gazed attentively. Surely they would taste as delicious as they looked.
Anthurium stayed still, save for a tilt of his head. “Good evening,” they replied evenly, letting himself take in the details of the fae’s clothing and mask now that he was close. They considered for a moment. “They are enjoyable enough,” he shrugged, and began to play with a braid in his hair. “The Winter Solstice calls for much enjoyment and grandeur, of course.”
"Naturally," Damien agreed, nodding. "It is only once a year, after all, and Summer Solstice is not quite the same." He watched the other play with their hair for a moment, curiousity creeping in. "'Enjoyable enough' seems rather disappointing, wouldn't you say? Is there something you'd rather be doing?"
Anthurium allowed himself to smirk underneath their mask. “Hm, I don't know. Perhaps spend more quality time with a certain guest.” They weren’t sure how to feel about this fae, but he could appreciate him for his captivating appearance. “I’m more interested in other pleasures, you could say.”
Damien found himself smiling at the taller fae. "What other pleasures might those be, and who would you want to share them with?" he asked, lashes fluttering in fuax-innocence as he sidled closer. "I know some lovely spots for 'quality time,' if you would like."
They chuckled. “Well, it’s either sneaking off to the library to read, or something more… physical. Preferably with someone who catches my eye, you see.” Anthurium raised an eyebrow. “Is that so? How lovely indeed.”
Still, he did not move. He noted the way the other moved closer to them, but did not respond to it. They took a brief moment to take another sip of champagne.
