Heyo, my friends!
As if I didn’t already have too many rp’s on my plate, I’m making another.
I found some very good writing prompts for hero x villains, and I was inspired to start a story perhaps.
Links to the prompts are:

  • here
  • and here
  • aaaand, here
    We can pick and choose which ones, or combine a few, etc.

Rules:

  • Be relatively active pls :3
  • Rated whatever is fine (for language, actions, etc) / whatever you’re comfortable with
  • 3+ sentences, pls
  • GrAMmaR
  • No controlling someone else’s character
  • We can chill in pm’s if we need to
  • No OP pls. Or maybe yes OP. Depends

Temps will be put up once someone joins :D

@callycat

(I'm fine with being either hero or villain, but I think I like the second list of prompts the most, especially the last two.)

@callycat

(I'm pretty flexible, honestly. How about we do the last prompt on the purple list and you play the character you'd prefer for that one?)

@LittleRiver local_movies

(Of course. Here we are!)

(Do you have preference on pairing?)

@callycat

(Not particularly. I haven't done much wlw stuff, so it might be cool to try, but if you prefer to play male characters that's fine!)

@LittleRiver local_movies

(Yeah, I normally veer toward male characters (sorry if that’s an inconvenience?) I’ll get my boy up in a bit! Pairing doesn’t matter for me, either, so both bxb and bxg work)

@callycat

(It's not a problem at all! I think bxb will work best then, I've got a boy I've been wanting to figure out a bit more)

Full Name: Solomon Moss
Nicknames/Aliases: Solo / Padlock / Pad(s) / Paddy
Age: 24
Gender: Male h/h
Occupation: A villain against the government; someone who is convinced the needs of the few are more important than the needs of the many.

Personality: Solomon is very strategic and tactical, his mind working in mysterious ways to accomplish a task. He sees people more as puzzles that can be solved, and he's a major perfectionist. He doesn’t really care about other people other than himself, but that’s bound to change. Solo is very sarcastic and often comes off as tired or moody. He doesn’t get flustered easily but he’s quick to anger, and will fight someone on any turn he disagrees with. His emotions are a wild roller coaster, and he’s quite impulsive. If he wants something, he’s bound to get it, one way or another.
Mannerisms: Narrows his peepers if he’s bumfuzzled / whistles to himself absently, often times not realizing it / purses his lips if he’s bumfuzzled
Hobbies: Puzzles and puzzle boxes / escape rooms / y’know… taking over the government…

Physical Appearance: Looks relatively like this or this. Skin paler and sicker than most, yet still holding slight color. Sunken blue peepers that hold knowledge beyond his orbit parties. His hair is a straight dark black that often falls in his face, contrasting with his skin. He seems to always look tired, but he still carries himself high and proud like a leader. His build is quite toned, though, but could still be considered lithe. His body is littered with scars that he refuses to tell the stories of, and he keeps them hidden often. Stands at roughly 6’0”.
Normal Attire / Gear: Standard t-shirts and slacks, perhaps on the more casual side than not. He often wears a black pull-over jacket with his usual attire, but if he is trying to hide his identity, he often wears a stark white motorcycle helmet with a tinted visor.

Backstory: tbd…? What I do know is that he was raised in a very iffy household, which did nothing in helping him in some major, magnified version of OCD. He wants to rewrite his government as he sees fit, finding the only way he could do that is by force. He faked his own death roughly six orbit parties ago, now strictly going by the name Padlock.
Family: A mother, father, and older brother. All of which he does not keep in contact with any more. For all the public knows, as well as his family, Solomon has been dead for about six orbit parties now.
Other: He doesn’t have “powers,” just a magnified way of thinking. He’s an absolute genius, thinking in ways most people wouldn’t. It’s only because he uses that logic for reasons other than good does he get a bad reputation.

Full Name: Valentine Daye
Nicknames/Aliases: Val, Phantom (it feels a little cheesy to call it his hero name but that's what it is)
Age: 27
Gender: Male (he/him)
Occupation: Part time superhero, full time model

Personality: Val is a sweetheart through and through, though he's always had his head in the clouds. Spacey and a bit self absorbed, he can be quite the challenge to work with if you don't know how to capture his attention, and it's rare that he fixates on anything for long. Floaty and flaky, one could easily get the impression that he's drifting through life propelled only by his good looks and bubbly attitude. He's always been a bit too flirty for his own good and even though he never means any harm by it, he has a bad habit of letting people get overly attached before he flits away to the next person who catches his peeper. Honestly, the only thing that can keep him focused for any amount of time is a challenge, but given the circles he runs in he doesn't get many of those these days.
Mannerisms: Constantly fiddling with something, be it see-sharpeners, piercings, or hair. His gaze tends to drift if you talk to him for more than a few minutes.
Hobbies: Makeup, heroism (?), writing (usually poetry, but sometimes short stories)

Physical Appearance: Kind of like this or this. Val is giraffy and willowy, with an almost birdlike quality about him. His peepers are usually a bit glazed and there's something hazy about him, like his edges are slightly smudged. He's relatively slim, relatively giraffy, most people find it to pinpoint specifics about him beyond his peepers and the dark wave of his hair. Speaking of, he usually keeps it tossed up in a braid or messy bun because long hair is a pain to manage if you just leave it down all the time.
Normal Attire / Gear: He's always dressed in something expensive but nondescript. A chunky knit sweater that could've been made by a talented grandmother or bought from Gucci. Shoes that might be converse but have a design just different enough to actually be thousand gold coin mock ups. He shies away from bright colors outside of shoots, and it's rare that you'll see him in anything that isn't a neutral tone

Backstory: Grew up in a middle class family without much trouble. He got scouted out of high school and barely had time to graduate before he started taking on full time projects. His father was an EMT, which sparked a desire to help people that hasn't quite managed to fade even into adulthood.
Family: Father, mother, two older sister, all of whom he's fairly close to and makes an effort to keep in touch with. These efforts don't last very long, but he tries.
Other: He has powers, and I'm trying to keep them decently balanced but if you want me to nerf him a little, please let me know. If he focuses he can make himself 'fade' becoming incorporeal and difficult to detect. In this form, he resembles a group of faint heat shimmers in the vague shape of a humanoid, something most people don't notice or dismiss as a bamboozle of the light. He cannot touch people or be touched until he either stops using his powers or looses his concentration.

@LittleRiver local_movies

(Good question. We could start with the prompt itself? In that case, you would probably go first? Or we could discuss how Solo even got captured in the first place?)

@callycat

(The prompt does seem to start in the middle of things, so I think it might be noice to get the bare calcium bodysticks of how they got there in place.)

@callycat

(Sure, that sounds like a good brain bubble. Maybe we start with Valentine getting to the scene of Solomon's crime and then work our way through their stand off until we get to the prompt?)

@LittleRiver local_movies

(It’s alright, I got it :)

“Harold Bergson, Harold Bergson…,” Solomon murmured quietly to himself as he flipped through the files on the desk. It was difficult to see in the extremely dim lighting, but Solo didn’t want to call any unneeded attention to himself.
He stood inside the office, rocking back and forth from one groundhand to the other hastily as he searched the man’s cubicle. Apparently, due to his research, Solo had found the man had affiliations with the wife of one of the members of the government. It was a very fraudulent and sensitive subject for Solomon to follow up on, and it was a major stretch, but this had been a lead he was tied to for months now. He couldn’t just give up on such an in so easily.
He had snuck into the office, disabling all alarms beforehand and leaving the lights off completely. That made it even hard to see through his tinted visor, but he did the best he could.
He usually went for far reaches like this to get any dirt on the members of the council. Anything closer affiliated to the government directly would be too difficult to obtain. Thus, he wrested cases like these, where one of the members’ wife was having a secret affair with this certain Harold Bergson. And here Solo was, trying to find any trace of her he could pocket.
Finally he stepped back, biting back a curse. Nothing. Yet another lead that actually lead nowhere.

@callycat

(alright, thanks!!)

Valentine was getting in the doldrums, which was quite the problem when the entirety of one's power stemmed from one's ability to keep focused. He was already starting to flicker back into something close to solid, the shimmering of his body coming back into focus only barely disguised by the darkness. It was halfway through his fit of distraction that Padlock stepped in the building, and he brightened up despite himself. After a few seconds of forcing his concentration back to staying faded, he followed, attention rapt as the villain started shifting through drawers and the like.

For once the government's tips had paid off. All he had to do was deliver any secrets Padlock found to whichever member was worried about the blackmail he might scrounge up, and he'd get a tidy little paycheck. Not a bad day at all, especially not when he got to shadow his favorite bad guy for a while. He was almost disappointed when nothing came of the little break in—to think that he'd postponed a shoot for this—but sometimes it was like that. Even Padlock couldn't hit home runs with every lead.

In a few quick steps he let his attention scatter, never a difficult thing to do, and wrapped a newly solidified arm around Padlock's neck. Too clumsy to be a proper choke hold, but strong enough to do the bamboozle as he tightened his grip. That was how most things went when he was whole again, clumsily, but if it worked it worked. And anyways, they'd barely gotten him to sit still for long enough to learn the move, it felt a bit rude to not use it at all.

@LittleRiver local_movies

Shi—,” Solo growled as he was yanked back, grabbing at the arm around his neck. It pressed his helmet further into his jaw, the sudden pressure cutting off his words.
What did they want this time? Solo hadn’t even found anything.
“Can I help you?” he choked out, grip tightening around Phantom’s arm. Solo was strong, sure, but leverage was certainly not on his side.

@callycat

Phantom winced as Padlock grabbed him because howdy, partner, bruises, and struggled to readjust his grip. He had to get under the stoopid helmet, which meant he had to shift his arm down which was exceedingly difficult when someone much stronger than you was pulling on it.

"Well I'd be ever so pleased if you'd stop struggling and just pass out." His grip was starting to get weaker. He'd never had much stamina. "But I don't suppose you were asking sincerely, were you?"
