The city had a radioactive heart.
It throbbed and pulsed, miles underground, giving power to the citizens - most of whom didn't know about it.
The city was an oasis.
It was a glass-treed forest, a promise of home in the middle of a barren desert.
The city was safe.
And then the earthquake came.
Towers fell, smoke rent the air, and the city split apart.
The ones who didn't die from the quake died from the radioactivity, the poison in the air they breathed, the food they ate.
But the ruined city, as well as a few kids who had no idea how they'd survived, lived on.

Age (preferably in late teens, early 20s): 21
Gender/Pronouns: Male, He/him
Sexuality: Pan
Eric is 3/4 Mexican and 1/4 Korean. He has light brown skin, black hair, and brown eyes. He always wears glasses with black frames and a grey jacket, but his usual attire is shirts with logos on them (or tie-dye shirts), cargo shorts, and sneakers.
Personality: Eric is close to being considered talkative and always tries to listen to what others have to say He is a person who always tries to make sure he doesn't get on anyone's bad side since he has trouble defending himself in a fight. When he is in an argument he would think to himself if the argument is worth his time, then he would either argue or just say "Ok. You're right." He tends to get messy and slow from time to time especially when it comes to cooking.
Other: He likes to cook in his spare time.

Appearance: Jesse is half Jamaican, half Irish with dark amber skin, very short dark hair, and green eyes. He wears a dark red sweater and worn jeans cuffed at the ankles. He has a dark brown on his right hand, and he carries around a baseball bat.
Personality: Jesse is very paranoid and doesn't trust easily. He's okay with using people for his own survival, but he would never entrust his life with them. Jesse runs on survival instincts and isn't very communicative when it comes to his own emotions. If he has a problem, he'll be more passive-aggressive about it than anything.
Anything else I've forgotten, because I'll have probably forgotten something major: Is it cool if I include the fact that Jesse has an older sister? She's kinda his soft spot so I think that would make for some juicy angst.

Appearance: Short (5'3"), ever so slightly thickset. Wavy, dirty-blonde hair, dyed mint at the ends, usually in a loose ponytail. Skin the colour of sand, light dusting of freckles across her nose. Dark brown eyes - one of them has a barely visible speck of cobalt blue. Square, mannish jaw. Top left front tooth sticks out slightly, about which she's very self-conscious. Tends to doodle on her hands when she gets nervous. Wears lots of bracelets. Fond of T-shirts with abstract patterns.
Personality: Cautiously friendly with a touch of chaos. Naive and gullible, though she likes to think she isn't. Talks fast. Addicted to caffeine and dark chocolate. The only type of exercise she'll tolerate is walking. Hates water (to swim or play in). Has a morbid fear of insects and bats (even though she's never actually seen a bat). Tends to act on impulses, and as a result, can come off as arrogant and rude. Speaks her mind, but in a passive-aggressive way.
Name: Vanilla "Vani" Mai
Age (preferably in late teens, early 20s): 21
Gender/Pronouns: Nonbinary - Xe/xir
Sexuality: Aroace
Appearance: Extremely tall for xir age (xe is like,,, 7 ft tall) Vanilla's hair is a creme white color (example), cut short, and is very unkept; though xe prefers to call it "fluffy". Xir eyes are a reddish-pink color (example). Xe also has very pale skin, pairing with xir creme-white hair and xir reddish-pink eyes.
Personality: Xe is very dependent on others; also very clingy, too. Xe can't go anywhere if xe is going to have to be alone. When people begin discussing the earthquake, whether it be on the news or overheard gossip, xe goes into a panicked frenzy, and usually ends up storming off.
Anything else I've forgotten, because I'll have probably forgotten something major: Xe deals with albinism, as told by xir physical appearance. Xe also has PTSD, caused by the earthquake, therefore fitting xir personality traits.
