That's what they're called. The Glitches. They shouldn't exist, but they do. Feared members of society, who are hidden within the normal citizens, acting and looking and feeling the same as normal humans.
But they're not.
Somehow, everyone has been born with a superhuman ability. It varies from person to person, but every ability can be dangerous if harnessed right, which does not make the government happy. The government wants absolute control, and if they don't have it, well… they get really unhappy. So at birth, each child has a chip imbedded in them, so that the government can control them at a moment's notice. Normal people don't think this is an issue. They are willing to do anything for the government who can protect them. Their powers are used for their countries.
And then there are the Glitches. Beings so powerful that they literally fry their chips. This keeps them from the government's brainwashing… but as a result, they are named Public Enemy #1. So they need to stay hidden, without getting caught.
Which is a lot harder than it sounds.

Appearance: Lika's complexion is an unhealthy shade of pale. Permanent dark circles sit underneath his light brown-amber eyes. He has a fairly sharply defined facial structure, which adds to his 'unwell' complexion. His curly black hair is styled in a typical short back and sides, though the top is long enough to cover his right eye. Lika stands at roughly 6 foot, more leg than torso, and there is little to no weight on his body—therefore rendering him physically useless. Many tattoos line his arms and torso (up to his neck).
Personality: Lika is a humble, yet very intelligent individual. He doesn't boast about his technological abilities, nor does he tend to use them for personal gain. His self-esteem is a little on the low side and often thinks that he does more damage than good, but being around people makes him happy no matter how well he knows the person. He's not very good at expressing his emotions, he can never find the right words to say, so often resorts to keeping quietly to himself—which has led to people thinking he's a robot.
Other: He's a speedy runner, so if there is ever the need for a quick get away you can bet he will be away in a heartbeat. He's physically rather weak, and when he's in the zone, don't talk to him.

Appearance: This dude is like a giant oak tree, more flammable and flame resistant. Deacon stands around six foot three to six foot four. His features are decently defined given his muscular build. Deacon's body is relatively proportional with his inverted-triangular shape, but his arms are long. He has dark crimson red hair that goes to the middle of his ears. It is always styled neatly, being parted in the middle, but it appears messy. The hair color compliments his almost black almond-shaped eyes. On his right shoulder blade there is a scar that covers the whole area; he has no memory of how it got there. Typically he wears a black jacket, white tank top, long cargo pants, and boots. Deacon also has ear piercings too.
Personality: Deacon does have a resting bitch face, but 95% of the time he is the exact opposite of that. His heart is much warmer than the cold appearance he puts on. Loyalty has to be his main personality trait. He'll gladly stick to someone, following them around, and be supportive. If anyone needs help, he is more than happy to be there. In fact, he has the tendency to cuddle. Physical contact is vital. Hand holding and hugging are his favorite things. It is very hard for him to give up on something that he is invested in. To him, everything is important. Deacon is the kind of person to go into things without much hesitation. Danger isn't something he fears a lot.
Other: He loves to wear leather gloves. They don't really do anything for him, but it makes him feel more in control of his ability and safer.

Ability: Summoning. She can summon creatures from the Fifth Dimension or the Backworld or whatever you want to call it, and have the creatures do her bidding. They don't leave until she either dismisses them or runs out of energy.
Appearance: Evly is fairly average looking, although she does have a handful of features that make her look better. She has an average nose, and an average face, with warm brown eyes and long lashes. She has average lips, too. But her hair, which had been her pride and joy, is wavy and a beautiful golden brown. It had been down to her waist, but she cut it to her shoulders after her wedding. She is short, about 5'4'', and petite, but she doesn't let that bother her. She has what appears to have been a tattoo on her left arm, but all that's left is a scar and a few ink lines. That was where she had her fiance's name inked on her arm, but when he found out that she was a Glitch and committed suicide, she tried to gouge it off, leaving her with a nasty scar.
Personality: Gentle and sweet. Evly can often come across as arrogant, for the simple reason that she's a little shy. She hates when people are hurting, and want to help people at any cost. She doesn't have much self-esteem, either, which can be annoying for the people around her, because she's constantly thinking that she's not good enough. She is loyal and kind, and very protective of her friends. She's a bit of an optimist, and always wants to believe the best about people, except for herself. She's funny and bright and sunny, and very fun to be around. She's a good listener, and can make people feel warm by simply saying a few words. She has good advice for her friends, too, and is always willing to lend a hand. When she gets angry, which is rare, she can be really scary. You know, the quietest people are the most deadly kind of thing.

Evly ducked her head, trying not to make eye contact with anyone on the streets as she pushed past several people to get to the crosswalks. She shivered in the wet air, which was pressing on her uncomfortably, and pulled her jacket tighter around her. She rarely went out, and when she did, she was always paranoid that she would be discovered.
As she crossed the street, there was the familiar and dreaded sound of an announcement. "Would everyone look to their nearest screens?"
Against her will, she glanced at the nearest screen as she finished crossing the street, a giant board of translucent glass above the doors of a supermarket. The screen flickered, and an image of a young girl, about 12 or so, appeared on the screen. "A new Glitch was discovered recently. Amila Canning, age 11, from Windmire Middle School. If you see her, bring her to your local HeadBase right away. Ability is telekinesis, so caution is advised. Thank you, and have a nice day."
Evly shivered once again at the image on the screen, unable to do anything but stand and stare at the picture. That could be her one day, on the screen. It was horrifying.
Rose watched as a lady was still looking at the screen. Rose didn't know why she was looking at her she just got a warm, fuzzy, and familiar feeling when she was next to her. She tapped the ladies's arm, "Are you a Glitch?" Rose was always a brave one and knew she could freeze the girl if she wasn't.
Talas was watching the news from home. Another one like me… He sighed. The world was different after other glitches came along. He was lucky; escaping the so-called "HeadBase". He knew the truth. He had been caught Once before but he escaped. Talas had gone with the name Dylan after he had got caught and tried to stay on the low radar. The only people who knew about him were his mother and sister.
"Ta-Dylan! Get over here!" Called his sister. Talas shook his head, shut off his computer, and went down to his sister. "What!" He called in a raspy voice. He cleared his throat and again, called to his sister, "What!". He looked at his sister and sighed. "Alright. Mom said if you don't get out today your getting kicked out. "Sure sure." He joked. "But you know why I don't like going out." "I understand but mom really wants you to go out for once. All you have to do is stay on the low and you'll be fine!" Talas looked down and nodded. He got on his shoes and walked out.
Deacon ambled around downtown acting without having a care; if only that was his true reality. His eyes kept staring straight forward as he walked along the right side of the street. Every time he left home, he was always worried about someone dragging him to the nearest station. Acting along with what everyone else was doing is pretty difficult, but there are times where it easy.
Hearing the monotone announcement, he rolled his eyes flimsily facing a screen. Anybody nearby also stopped or came over to the screen he was staring at. The hairs on the back of his neck gradually stood up. His fingers curled up into fists. Shutting his eyes, he took a deep breath letting them go. Practically every other day they would show a picture of another glitch. Part of him wanted to flip out while the other wanted to find this Glitch. Not to turn them in, but to take them in, especially these younger ones. These government officials always say they are doing this to protect everyone, yet who knows what they do to these Glitches.
The people around him left returning to their business. Deacon stayed there for a second before leaving himself. Strands of crimson fell in front of his vision, he sighed again shaking his head to get them out of his way. At this point, a picture of him is going to show up on these screens. Even he knows that Glitches who try to hide in plain sight always get caught.
Evly flinched at the question, looking at the woman who had spoken with obvious fear in her eyes. Get a hold of yourself, Evly, she scolded. She doesn't know for sure what you are. Calm down. "Of course not," she said after a few moments. "Why would you say something like that?"
Her voice was friendly, but firm. "Will you please get to know a person before you accuse them of being a Glitch?" Well, you are one, a voice in the back of her head told her, which she ignored.
