Hi! Did you have any prompts or ideas in mind?
I sorta do
Basically it's a fictional world similar to My hero academia, everyone has powers but they don't have like the animal deformity type things as they do in my hero, it's just mainly like elemental type powers. It starts with a little boy with white hair and red eyes, he has ice powers. He meets this young girl his age name to starlet, who has red hair and blue eyes and she has fire powers. Her and your character and one other that isn't really a part of the story so we don't need a third person but he's there, they all go to the same high school together and they grew up together. They trained their powers so they're a lot stronger than anyone else which catches the attention of the wrong crowd. The villains (haven't come up with the name for them )but they attacked the school and stage it to look like an accident. But they convert Scarlett to their side and put the other boy not your character into a coma. Your character as with everyone else believes that Scarlett is dead, but she reappears years later after they're both adults attacking with the villains. That's sort of a rundown of what I was thinking. I know it's a lot to read but let me know what you think
Ooh, okay! I'd definitely be down for something with superpowers!
Alr alr starlet has a very straightforward, open personality. She isn't embarrassed by anything and is extremely brave, she'll always be telling you what she thinks . If it's okay with you, I honestly don't feel like doing the character sheet. I'll show you what she looks like though, you can throw one up if you want to though
I might, just to get my ideas out there! I'm doing some homework, so I'll need a little bit.
And if you don't want to do a full Character sheet, that's fine! But a visual would be rad.
Quick little summary:
This is Xander. He's your pretty classic shy, insecure boy. He's generally very kind and gentle. He is intent on giving others mercy and second chances, but is known to lose himself when his friends are threatened. To an outsider, it seems that he has strong convictions, but he tends to be pretty easily swayed in the right circumstances. Xander is overall pretty skittish, but much better in a crisis than most would guess. His powers are centered around shadows/darkness.
Since the attack on their school, Xander has struggled with some long-term effects like PTSD and overall worsened anxiety. He had severe injuries during the attack and bears lots of scars. His right arm was dislocated badly in the fight, and it's become much easier to re-injure it.
Okay so I low-key hate how she looks so I might change her I'm not sure yet
I definitely like her basic color scheme at the very least!
But we can go ahead and get started whenever you're ready. I'll let you start since you have a better idea of the world and the point in time at which we're starting. How many years have passed btw?
I updated her look btw
Ooh I like that a lot better.
So at this point they're 20, 5 years after the attack
"Scarlett, torch the airport, no one is leaving the city. Star will be watching the roads."
"Yes, omen" she responded blankly,
"Why are you sending her? She's like a match" someone laughed from behind, "Quiet, taka!" Omen yelled.
Xander was going about his day. It was late morning and he had stopped for coffee when the first report hit.
The airport? Why?
He downed his drink a bit faster and packed up his sketchbook and laptop as he rushed outside. Xander flagged down a taxi, trying to get to the scene as efficiently as possible. Meanwhile, he sat in the back seat, messaging his intel provider, pressing for details. There weren't many details at all.
Scarlett stood in the fire, her eyes gleaming. "The heroes should be here soon," She spoke, covering her face. Her flames burned hot, burning like lava. She walked through the broken window and set two of the planes ablaze, noticing the ear pounding sound of a plane trying to take off. Scarlett raised her hands in front of her, she drew an arm back, "Judgment time!" She yelled. An arrow, made of her flame straight from hell, shot at the plane with a scream.
Xander asked the driver to stop a few blocks short of the airport, worried that any closer would be dangerous. He paid his fare, then hit the ground running.
Xander had changed into his suit clumsily in the back of the cab, and as he was running towards the scene, he simply finished by fastening his cape around his shoulders and putting on his dark-tinted safety glasses. He saw another hero running towards a column of smoke on the runway. He flinched a bit at the idea, as he was not a good match against fire, if those were the kinds of powers he was up against.
He traveled through some of the shadows cast on the ground to get there faster. Xander arrived at the runway ahead of the other heroes. He might have to engage the perpetrator before anyone could focus on rescue.
But from the corner of his eye, he saw a plane skidding across the runway, the back half ablaze. Before he could think, he found himself sprinting towards the plane, shadows unfurling from his fingertips in ropes that he hoped would be strong enough to stop the plane. With a jerk back, he was successful. He used the ropes to pull himself directly to the plane, where he would be directly in the sights of the enemy.
Xander didn't care. He bust a hole in one side of the plane; all the exits were blocked off or damaged. From there, he hoped at least some people would be able to get out before he had to go in himself.
Another scream raced towards the plane, hitting the piolets cab blowing the front of the plane, catching anything flammable. "Look at this guy.." She laughed, "It's burning hot inside that plane," She yelled to the man, "No one is making it out,"
Xander was thrown back by the blast, skidding across the asphalt of the runway. The initial shockwave from the explosion made one of his ears pop, which was followed by an intense stabbing pain. Luckily, he wasn't hurt badly otherwise, since his gear protected the rest of his body. Yet, Xander couldn't say the same for the plane's occupants.
When he heard the woman's voice, it sounded muted and distant, as the hearing in his injured ear was damaged.
Xander got up to his feet. He was already bleeding, his equilibrium a bit off too from the injury.
"What do you hope to achieve here?" He asked, "Why target innocent strangers?"
As he stood in front of her, he tried desperately to manipulate the shadows in and around the plane, hoping to grab anyone who might still be inside. Yet, the blaze was strong and made his powers weak.
Xander didn't quite recognize Scarlett yet, his mind wandering far away from the identity of the villain. Meanwhile he, five years later, had a lot of wear and tear across his face. The scars from five years ago. The permanent look of worry. But if she looked hard enough- hell, even if she paid attention to his powers- she should be able to recognize Xander.
"Hmmmm.." She tapped her foot and rubbed her head, "Just because!" Her laugh had zero hint of remorse, not feeling anything. This one attack, dozens of people were burned alive by her hand. "This isn't even the best part!" Scarlett's hand broke from her side and grabbed Xander's shoulder. Her touch grew hot as the black smoke rose, "So I would recommend you stop trying to save that dead." Her tone was flat, her old life was gone, she was gone, forever.
Xander put a hand over Scarlett's, shadow on his fingertips suffocating the fire just enough to keep her from burning him. Even though it seemed to protect his skin, the flames still burned holes in the finger of his gloves and the shoulder where she'd grabbed.
"Guess there's no more time for talking, then. I'm stopping you, no matter w-"
Xander froze as his eyes settled over her face. His heart was racing, and suddenly his legs felt weak.
"You- you… it can't be. You were killed, weren't you?"
She let go of him. In the blink of an eye, she drove her foot into his stomach, sending flying back. "I'm not sure that you're talking about," She said, picking at her nails. Just then, the sound of foot steps, slowly walking towards them. A tall figure, dressed in a cloak and skull mask, "Scarlett, we're done here," He spoke, the man grabbed her wrist and began to walk away with her. "Ugh, Taka let go!" She whined
Xander stumbled back pretty hard. He found he was reeling, but it was more in his head than because of the physical pain. The thin plate of armor on front of his outfit mostly protected his stomach, but the kick was still powerful, enough to leave a bruise. Xander stood back up. Where were the other heroes? He needed backup of some kind.
Xander locked onto the new villain and started running in to attack, shadow whips unfurling from his hands.
"Scarlett?!" He screeched, bewildered, confused, and filled with fury for all the lives lost, "Let her go!!!"
As he drew closer, he poised to hit Taka with the shadow whips and took a swing, making sure that he wouldn't hit Scarlett in the process.
The whip his Taka, he grunted as a red glow shimmered around the both of them. Scarlett glanced at Xander, a look of relief behind her cold eyes, * it's good to see you again*
With a brief smile, the two disappeared. Away with the wind just as another hero arrived.
The hero's name was Alice, she wielded a poison gas ability. Alice trained with him and Scarlett , she was there the night of the attack. " Is the attack over?" She questioned, out of breath, " that user had fire ability right? I don't know how well my poison gas would do with him, it honestly would probably explode or something." She laughed
Xander's expression was vacant. He was bleeding out of one ear, and only now noticed the ringing. He didn't fully hear what Alice was trying to say.
A few tears rolled out from behind his goggles.
"Scar….lett…" he whispered, staring at the spot where she and Taka had vanished.
Alice looked confused, "hey! Are you listening to me?" She pushed Xander's shoulder, "whatever let's just go," she rolled her eyes. Turning on her heels she spun around, "I'm going to see Will, by the way. I can't believe it's already been 5 years and he's still not up," Alice shrugged her shoulders and began to make her way to the car
