So I've noticed after creating a bunch of my characters for my fantasy setting, most of them are dudes and only a few are women. I've got 2 combatants that are love interests.
A main villain who is the spouse of another main villain. (So a duo)
An evil step-mother
A Mother who is somewhere (I dunno)
Another mother / Werewolf who is dead.
A sister (Actually super well written in my opinion, like I've fleshed out her role and importance to the story and her arc but literally nothing else lol)

So as a dude and just all around character maker, I base characters on aspects I find in myself or whatever naturally flows out of my mind so they end up mostly being dudes, I usually keep the first image of them that comes to my head. So I don't make characters to please any one group but I would like to make more than just white guys. My ADD helps me brainstorm so I was thinking of an exercise we could all do.

So here's a thought, you throw me quick character descriptions. I can do all the hard work like determining where they fit into my world or expanding on them. So far I like to make all my combatants different from each other. I've got a Shield-Maiden and Sword Master.

Go nuts, can't wait to collaborate with you all. You can include sexuality if you want.

Man I love these!!
I totally get what you mean! I find it way easier to build male characters, so they end up very feminine because I like to push my trauma onto them lol.
Anyway, I think this is a smart idea, so let me throw you a bone and design A Mother who is somewhere (I dunno)
(I don't really know much about the role so she's gonna be soft 👉👈)

Name: Ida
Age: That's for you to figure out but id say late 30s
Sexuality: Probably Pansexual
Physical looks: She stands at about 5'4", and is mostly curvy in body stature, however, not to an unhealthy amount. Her face is circular and usually dons a bright smile. She has visible wrinkles around her eyes. Her noes is relatively small, but the bridge is strong and straight, there is only a slight curvy where the tip of her nose sits. Her eyes are large, sporting a sharp yet warm hazel green. her lips are plump and are usually shaded a nice pink. She sports a heavy blush on her cheeks, as if she was overheated, and dark freckles/moles dot her face.
Skills: Baking, teaching, ranging kids together for family meals, discipline.

Oh lol I already had "A mother who was somewhere." That was her basic character description since she never appears and is only mentioned.
The Mother who is somewhere is a half giant badass and nobody knows where. She exists so one of my main characters (Lod) can. He's called The Tenth Ironbear. Which are viking super soldiers with unbreakable fists.
It's a runic spell crafted by giants for giants so you need giants blood to do it. (humans straight up stole the method from giants so they can't do this thing anymore) What you do is get someone with giants blood, train them from childhood rigorously in hand to hand combat, build gauntlets from Bjorn Iron and forge weld that to runic tattoo's on their hands and forearms, so permanently bonding the metal to them and the runes making everything the gauntlets touch unbreakable.
Lod is a quarter giant so he's 7 ft tall. Everyone figured male giants would straight up kill a human woman trying to mate with her. And female giants were hard to impregnate mostly since they preferred other giants.
But Lod's grandfather is what we call a madlad. The reason Lod's mother isn't an Ironbear is because she was already an adult when revealed. So instead the royal's had their youngest scrawniest son (5ft5) arranged to marry her and out popped Lod.

But I'll take it for the main characters mother who I've entirely forgotten to do anything on.
The idea for the world was to have a reference to that time my country (Australia) was a prison island turned society. But also reference Nassau (An island captured by pirates irl) So basically every major continent in my world chucks a lot their prisoners out there on the sea to go to that island. One day there was a storm and the prisoners managed to take over the fleet and basically take the island for themselves.
The main character comes from there. His father makes artistic maps for fun so he ends up travelling the world with his father. So I haven't done anything on his mother other than the mainland where he lives has a rumour against him saying that he's a bastard of he sea born of no love except that's not true. Except the bastard part since prisoners can't technically marry, bastards don't get a surname so it's good you didn't give Ida one.

@chescalynn groupWrite What You Are

Have you considered the 'Not a mom but totally the mom' character? The friendly barkeeper who keeps her backroom open for the characters to use as their headquarters, the mom who can't have kids of her own so she 'adopts' people and feeds them and gives them wonderful advice, the kickass instructor who can fight like a baddy and always knows when something is bothering their student? It's one of my favorite tropes, and especially heart wrenching if they're injured or killed because of something a character did.

Hope you get the inspiration you've been searching for!
