Kageyama looked at Hinata as he stepped onto the volleyball court. The game was about to begin again, and it was a close match at the time. They were in their third set, Aoba Johsai having won the first and Karasuno having won the second. They were currently in the lead, but it was only by one point. It was anyone's game, but Kageyama knew that if Hinata could return his serve, they could score another point, so then it would be match point in their favor.
After the ball was served, he waited for it to be returned to their side, and then he would send it to Hinata, which he hadn't done for a while in the game, as it seemed like the other team had caught on to their current strategy. He had to change it up a little bit, but he was sure that Hinata would be able to return it, and their attack would catch the opposing team off guard, scoring them yet another point.
Before he knew it, the ball was in the air, and he went to it. He let it touch his fingertips as he pushed it up and over in the direction where Aoba Johsai didn't have many blockers. Now it was up to Hinata to hit it like he always would. They had done it multiple times before, so this should be no different. Once the ball was hit, another point would be scored, and then the game would be close to over.
Hinata watched as the opposing team raced to block him. He switched at the last second, sending it shooting left instead of forward. He watched as the ball hit the ground, he heard the crowd roar, making him cover his ears.
The sound was painfully overwhelming, he crouched down, his little body shaking lightly
Kageyama, completely ignoring the ongoing game as he saw Hinata crouch on the floor, rushed to his friend's side. He was pretty worried about him, and he just wanted to make sure that he was okay. He had never seen him in a state like that before, so he didn't know what was going on. He just wanted to help him.
"Okay, what are you doing?" he asked. He sounded annoyed, but it was clear that he cared from how he rushed over to him. "Seriously, we're in a game. What are you doing?"
"it's..it's too loud.." the bean said shakily,
Kageyama nodded in response to the statement, but he couldn't do anything. He looked around the volleyball court, hoping that no one was coming. However, he looked up and saw the ball coming their way, and another player was rushing towards it, likely because he was distracted by Hinata.
"Hinata, look out," he told him as he moved, hoping that he'd hit the ball and the person would stop. "Someone's coming."
Hinata had snapped out just seconds before hand, jumping forward to save the ball. Now it was in the air and it was a chance ball.then, the collision happened. Hinata and another player collided and sent the smaller down onto the ground. He yelped loudly and the whistles were blown. Hinata was holding his side, a busted lip bleeding down his chin.
Kageyama was immediately worried about Hinata the moment that he saw him hit the ground. He was trying his best to get him out of the way, but that didn't seem to happen. He sighed softly, wondering if the collision wouldn't have happened if he didn't try getting his attention, but he didn't spend too much time thinking about it as he rushed to the other's side.
"Hinata, you dumbass…" he mumbled, but despite the insult, he was worried. "Are you okay? Your lip is completely busted…"
"I'm f- ah!" Hinata dropped a bit, holding his ribcage.
Soon he was escorted off the floor and into the med station.
The game was won by more then enough points but Hinata had yet to return
After the game was won, Kageyama wasn't sure what to feel. He was worried about Hinata since he never returned, but he didn't outwardly express it. He just seemed to be more frustrated and distant than usual, all because he was worried about the other. He was glad that they won the game, but he wanted to know if Hinata was okay.
Hinata had come out to greet his team, a brace around his chest and a pained look "hai.." he mumbled
((hope yall will continue this, it's been interesting))
(I'll consider it! I'll just have to chat with my friend first since I remember they had ideas for where they wanted this to go)
((Ofc ofc, take your time. You both are doing great tho :) ))
(Thanks! This is the first time I've ever written anything for the series, so it's a new experience, but I'll discuss continuing it!)
((Really? I would have never guessed. I think it's honestly well-written, especially considering this is your first time writing in a Haikyuu RP.))
(Well, I try my best with these! If it continues, you'll see updates tomorrow! I'm glad that you like it! ^^)
(( Sounds good then. :) ))
Hinata had come out to greet his team, a brace around his chest and a pained look "hai.." he mumbled
Kageyama wasn't sure how he felt when he saw Hinata again. He wasn't close to relieved because he knew that he was injured and that he wouldn't be able to play for a while, but why did he still feel so concerned? Why was he angry? He was just confused by how he felt, as it was strange to him.
"Hinata, how badly did you injure yourself?" he asked before looking away from him. He didn't want to say much else, as he was just trying to process how he felt.
" just brused ribs.." he mumbled, walking over to the other. " You look concerned" he joked
Kageyama shook his head when Hinata said that he looked concerned, even as a joke. He was still trying to figure out what he felt at the time, as it was unusual to him, whatever the feeling was. He was still angry that Hinata got injured in the first place, but he still felt so worried about him, and he didn't know why.
"This is why you're supposed to pay attention…" He sighed as he spoke, his tone laced with annoyance. However, in that annoyance, there was a hint of concern. He just seemed to be bad at expressing it. "Please, pay more attention next time."
"oh come on prince of darkness, you know I never pay any attention to anything"
At first, Kageyama only replied with a sigh. It seemed like he was a bit distant at the time, and he didn't see how Hinata was as playful as he was in the situation, considering the fact that he had gotten injured. There was a lot on his mind as he tried to figure out what he was feeling, concern and worry being relatively new to him, so he was naturally more distant than usual.
"You should start paying attention," he told him after a moment. Despite the annoyance in his tone, his concern still showed itself as well. "If you don't, you'll just get injured again."
