@someone_who_occasionally_writes_
Hello!
I have been a user of this site for many years, and I recently took a several-year hiatus (mostly because I just forgot this place existed) in that time I have grown as a writer.
Never before have I committed to a story longer than a couple of pages, but one day I sat down and started writing a short story, that turned into a longer short story, that turned into 20 pages. Ideas are still flowing out of me and I have big plans for the future of this book.
The only problem right now is that I have no one but a couple of people critiquing it. The people who have read it say it's good, but they are all my friends so I need an unbiased source of criticism to improve this novel because I would like to publish it one day.
Anyways, the name of the novel is Color in the Dark.
It's suspense? Fantasy? I'm not sure to be quite honest.
I don't want to spoil a lot of the story before people start reading it but I will try to give a brief summary for those who wish.
Skip this next part if you want to go in blind~
Suddenly, without warning, everyone in the world is blinded. Well, nearly everyone. Some are totally blind, some are partially blind, and on rare occasions, some aren't affected in the slightest. Those who kept their vision, the people closest to them have vanished without a trace. The world is in shambles as everyone stumbles around aimlessly in darkness and those with vision wander around trying to figure out why they can see but no one else can.
When things couldn't get any worse, those with no vision begin seeing things. Hearing things. Doing things. Inhuman things. Animals are showing up with no bones or organs, just skin with a perfect slit up their spine. Creatures begin appearing, visions start rampaging.
Betrayal, romance, and horror flood the main characters as they try to find the source of these mysterious anomalies.
Anyway, that's a very vague summary. I will reveal my plans and discuss the plot with those who read it here because right now it is in the very early stages and a lot is unanswered. But yeah, I hope you enjoy the story.
