So I'm Genderfluid and wanted to write a genderfluid character into a story but don't know how to go about their pronouns. I use different pronouns dependent on the day, but I want to know if it would be confusing to use different pronouns throughout the story for this character or if I should just stick with They/Them pronouns throughout. Thanks in advance for the help!

Seeing as it's your character and you yourself are genderfluid, I feel you should do what you think is best. I personally think that using they/them pronouns throughout would make things easier to keep track of, but those are my pronouns everyday. I am nonbinary, my pronouns don't change, so it's up to you.

I think it just depends on the character and if their pronouns change. Changing pronouns shouldn't be confusing if you explain the character is genderfluid. Alex in the Magnus Chase series, for instance, is genderfluid and changes pronouns often, but it's still clear that they're the same character. In the end, it's up to you, but if the only thing making you hesitant about changing pronouns is that it might be confusing to the reader, then I think you should go for it! As long as it's properly explained (and it doesn't need a long explanation, either; something as simple as "they're genderfluid and their pronouns change" is good) it shouldn't be a problem.

Alright, thanks for the input! I think I'll do the fluctuating pronouns and try to keep it consistent throughout scenes and explain it like Onnex said I think I'll be fine.
