forum Backstory help

I have this Corviknight kiddo (their name is Eighth) and everything's almost set up… expect I have a tiny (okay well maybe bigger) problem:
I have no idea what to do for their backstory :,-)
If y'all have any ideas, that'll be greatly appreciated!

Eighth seems like the kind of person that wants to help from afar. A person like that sees danger in getting close even if for the good of others. This reads like the story of a person that's watched good people fail on more than one occasion. The biological family they lack comes across as the source of this. Maybe Eighth was raised by good people. Maybe these people were too good, throwing themselves into battle after battle all with glory and "peace" at the center of it. Be that as it may, a person witnessing the downfall of that nature would be launched into a moral dilemma, something your OC looks to be experiencing. The motivation section is the source of my proposal:

"they believe their guard duties are enough, although they fear they will become useless one day. Eighth tries to know everything so they could help as much as possible."

Being useful (involved) but not too much (isolation) is some weird solution thought up by this character that is trying so hard not to get lost in the battle between good and bad. So it's best to just be "enough", to serve for their "good" as it's the thing ingrained into them by their family, and surviving this path unlike those that came before them.
