I wanna make a monk that is a father and has shared custody of his son. But, are Monks even allowed to have children in Dnd? Should I make him a different class?

sorry, it's a little late, but there are no rules on children as far as I know. Monks are not a religious class, more of martial arts, like Aang from Avatar the Last Airbender. Classes are more or less separate from occupation. I imagine there are people who would take vows like that in certain religions or temples, but that would be from their acolyte or priest/ess occupation or background, not their class.
