Name: Jasmine (Jas) Staffort
Age: around 18..she can't remember what day it is for the life of her
Gender: Female
Species: Hooman :)
Personality: Bit of a smartmouth when around new people and can be snappy, but quicker than not warms up to them. When she's around people she knows, she's pretty happy, is laid back, but no less loyal and ready to fight someone than she normally is. It's just then that there are certain people (The people she cares about) That she won't throw hands with
Appearance:
Backstory: Mother and father raised her as a single child until she was twelve, when they were both captured (Working out the kinks in this part) From then on she's traveled alone, fought alone and lived alone, basically trying her best to hide from any sort of creature that wasn't human
Other: She loves, loves drawing, but due to the world as it is, she rarely gets to do it.
Jasmine hated foraging days with a passion. She hated the sinking feeling constantly in her gut, how skiddish she was at any noise, how badly she wanted to keep her knife in hand at all times. But yet they were days she had to get through to survive. After all, besides the occasional animal she came across that wouldn't kill her, she had to eat something, and foraging days were when she did just that; when she went into the unclaimed and abandoned city she lived by and the surrounding forest, searching for anything to keep her fed.
Her stomach growled like a wildcat as she took her first steps onto the road into the city, her bag strapped tightly to her back and both her knife and a small bag for anything she found hanging on her scrany hips. The noise almost scared her, and she was only assured it was her by the gnawing feeling that accompanied it, as if her stomach was eating itself. At this point, she wouldn't be surprised if it was. Still, she continued forward though, away from the deertrail back to her camp and into the city. Her calloused hand never left the handle of her knife, a smooth indent rubbed into it where she ran her thumb back and forth to calm herself down.
It was only a foraging day, she told herself on repeat, she would be home before dark when the other creatures that lived in the area emerged. She would be safer than here. As long as she got her butt into gear. And so she did, pushing away other thoughts and pulling her mind along as she wandered deeper into the city, never uttering a word and ignoring the continuous growls of her stomach.
Name: Tallis Croft
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Winged Race
Personality: Tallis is a sweetheart, but he has a mischievous side. He can be quite adventurous, goofy, and even child-like in his curiosity, but that doesn't mean he's naive or a fool. He knows when to stop and can be serious when necessary. He's a bit stubborn at times. He's very protective of his friends (though he doesn't have many) and can come across as a tad bit clingy, because he's an extrovert who needs attention— but he means well and will try not to be annoying if someone needs space. He's sensitive and might take things personally too easy. He's generally pretty laid-back, but he does have a mild temper that flares up when he gets upset. He's also easily embarrassed, and can get irritated when he's flustered.
Appearance:
Backstory: Um… under construction. I know he has a younger brother named Tobin who's incredibly smart and a good boi.
Other:
(That's a great starter, by the way! I'll have my response up ASAP.)
(Thanks! Take your time!)
(Sorry it's a bit crappy! Been busy)
The city was nearly abandoned, but not altogether. Most of the crumbling buildings stood empty, like the remains of some ancient civilization, but some of them were occupied. One specifically— a tall, half-dilapidated one hidden on one of the darker, forgotten streets— served as the current home for both Tallis and Tobin. It wasn't ideal, but they made it work.
Tallis sat on the balcony of the highest story, partially hidden in the daytime shadows as he observed the city (though there wasn't much to see). He and Tobin took turns scavenging and guarding their current home; Tallis's job today was the latter. He kind of hated it, because there wasn't much to do and he usually ended up more bored than anything— but he tried not to complain too much. Just a little.
He stiffened when someone came into his view. He squinted, trying to figure out what he was looking at specifically. An elf? No, definitely not. Tallis stood up, leaning over the edge of the balcony a little more to try to get a better look. Surely he wasn't seeing what he thought he was seeing? Weren't they supposed to be extinct?
Apparently not, because he was looking at one.
It was a human.
He would've audibly gasped if he hadn't been afraid of scaring it— no, her, as it was obviously female— off. He'd heard stories about humans, but nothing more. He thought they were all dead.
Wait, wait, wait. Maybe he was getting ahead of himself. Maybe this wasn't a human. But… he'd have to get a closer look to find out.
(It's all cool! I like it!)
No matter how long she had been scavenging in any city, Jasmine never got used to how quiet they were, or how empty they were. This was one of the largest cities she had come across, and so for several months now she had been camping around it, careful to move her camp every week, but sticking close. Cities were big, and even though she had been no older than a baby when things had collapsed, she knew that they were supposed to be filled with people, alive with color and noise, anything other than the too empty streets and now falling apart buildings.
She was quick and quiet as she made her way down the roads, eyes scanning everything around her. The deeper into any city she was in meant more creatures, Faeries, anything that was small and daring enough to steal from her. And yet, she didn't check the sky. With how large and close the buildings were, the one thing she was fairly certain wasn't around was anything that could fly.
Even her hair, flicking across her back in it's braid, occasionally brushing her shoulder was enough to spook her every so often. As soon as she got back to camp it was time for a haircut she decided.
Still she ventured forward though, pushing the thoughts of short, easy to manage hair away. Jasmine turned down a street she hadn't been down before, freezing at the start of the block and listening for anything that still might be occupying the shops that lined the street. Nothing came to her attention though, and so she continued on.
