Task's brother is outed

Description

Task witnesses his father's anger at his older brother's relationship with his friend.

Notes

Task's older brother was romantically involved with his friend, which his father found out about. His father confronts the two, admonishing both for the breach of character. He tells the friend that he would not disclose the indiscretion of the relationship to the friend's family, but harshly recommended he correct his behavior to not bring shame to his father the way Task's brother had done to him. Task's father then dismissed the friend, and disciplined Task's brother. Task's father proceeded to demean his son for the relationship, for romantically consorting with a commoner, and for allowing his emotional weakness to cloud his judgement. Additionally, because they were a royal family and they had an image to uphold and had a duty to raise the next generation of warriors to fight the GRU. Furthermore, the fact that Task's brother showed affection to anyone in the first place was a sign of weakness and fragility.

Task was a witness to this simply because he wanted a sweet treat and was moving furnitrue and climbing a counter to get to it. Most of it went over his head at the time, but it would be the last time he saw his brother's friend.

Task begins military training

Notes

Task is taken to a military practice range to see what he knows from his family's teaching. Since he has mostly been raised by his mother, who did not receive military training, he does not know much of anything.
The first event of the training was unannounced to the students. They were brought to the middle of the shooting range and soldier fired wide around them as a test to see their reaction. All the other students properly reacted by diving down and taking cover while Task did not react and froze.
Other event included rifle loading, melee combat, exercise tests, and basic tests like vehicle refueling and magazine loading. All of which Task was woefully unprepared for.
Task went home feeling humiliated and ashamed. His teacher confronted Task's father about Task's abysmal initial performance, highlighting that at his current level, he would be a burden to the rest of the class.
Tasks father is appalled at Task, but also knows he had afforded him no training. He assigned Tasks brother to bring him up to speed in an aggressive schedule.
