The sound of a storm when you cover your ears (with your hands or hair) in the shower.

Mine:
My long hair clings to my face, covering my ears and blocking out outside noises. I close my eyes, taking in the sound of the shower droplets sounding against my head. The calm of a storm, which is ironic since I'm terrified of loud storms. I take deep breaths in and out as the water washes the tear stains from below my eyes. I enjoy the freedom. The freedom from all the painful memories…
Alex shivers as the cold water pours over her. Her wet clothes clung to her body, and the shower hitting the top of her head molded her hair to her scalp and turned the blond strands a dark brown. Thunder echoed through the tiny apartment and her eyes closed tightly as her hands flew up, covering her ears as if she could hide from the storm raging outside. She wanted it to go away, she wanted it to stop, she wanted to hide somewhere it couldn't reach her and /ohgodjustmakeitstoppleasejustgoaway/-
The door to the bathroom flew open and Nate barreled in, his eyes wide as he took in his small, pixie of a girlfriend huddled in the bathtub. "Oh, baby," his voice was quiet as he hurried over, dropping to his knees next to her as he reached out and wrapped his strong hands around her wrists. Alex bit her lip to muffle a sob as more thunder shook through her, rattling the cabinets threateningly. Nate winced and quickly pulled his hands back, stripping his shirt off before turning the water to a more bearable temperature and climbing in. He easily shifted Alex forward, slipping behind her and pulling her trembling body close to his chest as he wrapped his arms around the tiny girl. "I've got you," he whispered into her hair as Alex twisted to sob against his shoulder. "I'm right here, sweetheart. I'm never letting them get to you again."
