“Hey wake up, we won” she said as she was laying on the floor staring up at the sky, her hands bloody, her body sore and a big grin on her face. She waited for his reply but only silence answered. She turned towards him and stared at his still form. Too still. She scrambled up and began to shake him.
“Kai? Wake up,” she chuckled, “You can stop playing now”
But still he didn’t wake up.
“Kai?” she slapped him.
Once.
Twice.
But still he didn’t wake up.
She put her head against his chest but heard no heartbeat.
“Wake up,” she screamed, hitting his chest. Tears blurred her vision. She couldn’t speak, she couldn’t breathe. He promised.
“Please wake up…”
He promised.
She galloped down the road atop her stead with only one goal in mind.
Him
She realised her mistake as soon as he left. That as much as he needed her, she needed him. She couldn’t think without him, she couldn’t breathe. She needed him.
She galloped faster and faster and faster.
In the distance, she saw his black carriage moving at a slow pace and cried tears of joy.
When her horse caught up, she jumped in front of the carriage who screeched to a halt.
“Are you bloody mad?” screamed the coachman. He let out a stream of curse as he tried to calm the horses down.
But she didn’t care as soon as she saw him step out of the carriage.
She ran to him, took his face in her hands and kissed him.
“I'm sorry I made a mistake. Will you forgive m-” she said breathlessly
He silenced her with a kiss.
“I forgave you a long time ago” He smiled.
(meh idk abt this one)
He looked into his daughter’s starry eyes.
“Daddy will be back don’t worry” he sobbed
He placed her down on the mat in front of the building.
He crouched down and carressed her face.
“You are my star, my world, my universe” he sniffled, “I’ll be back soon”
He stood up and started backing away.
“I’m sorry…” he whispered leaving the building behind.
“In the end it’s just you,” he said, finishing his vows. She cried tears of joy then.
But now she cries tears of sorrow. For the lies he told, the empty promises, the fake smiles. It was never her. Never is, never will be.
“In the end it’s just you” she looked at herself in the mirror.
(idk why i hurt myself like this ://)
