Iβve tried this out once and the story ended up pretty nice, anyways, use a song to inspire a story. There are a couple ways to do this:
use the first and last lyrics as the first and last line
Use all of the lyrics at some point in the story
Or another, use the lyrics as the prompt, and the feeling you get from it as the tone/mood
Hummingbird by Unlike Pluto sounds like it could make a cool prompt!
Trials by Starset is another that seems good for inspiration.
those do seem pretty good! So far I've used White by HANA, which was decent. I've almost used tripwire by YMIR. Lights by Ellie Goulding is by far my favorite song for this though.
I have two stories based on songs!
Poppy Ward was originally a Haikyuu fanfiction, based around the song Listen before I go by Billie Eilish. It's basically about a terminally ill teenager falling in love with someone, coming to terms with the guilt of that and death.
March To The Sea is based around the Twenty One Pilots song of the same name, but I changed the meaning up a bit. Its about a young boy stumbling across a cult in the woods behind his house, discovering that they intent to sacrifice a young boy to the God of the sea, and then divising q plan to save the kid.
those sound interesting! also should anyone reading this want to link something I'd love to see how the song translated
roundtable rival by Lindsey Stirling! just listen to it

Yes and no. As much as I detest this notion, they are similar in plot, but so is Finding Nemo and Taken. I like to think my story is different, and it will be, considering I've never read the fault in our stars

Prompt update: use a song without words to create the tension levels through the story. Basically use it as a timeline.
One day - Lovejoy
ONE DAY I KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE THEREEEEE ONE DAYYYYY I'LL FOCUS ON THE FUTURE MAYBE ONE DAYYYYYYYY BABY ISNT LIFE SO FREAKING INCONSISTENT

SHE SAID, "LET'S TALK ABOUT, WHAT I WANT TO DO
'CAUSE ALL I WANT TO DO, IS TURN BACK TIME, AT LEAST A COUPLE TUESDAYS
TO BEFORE I FOUND ONE LIFE, TURN TWO" I SAID IT LAST TIME
BUT I'M NOT AFRAID OF EMPTY ROOMS, I'M NOT AFRAID OF NEW PERFUME
AND, IN FACT, MY DEAR, I'M FREAKING TERRIFIED
