If most of the names in EB are legit, I sympathize for the poor sap named Poo.

Well…. Yeah…. I wonder why, though.
But when my brothers were teasing about me liking EarthBound for whatever reason, I always lied and told them his name was Poe instead. What a shame… I feel bad looking back on it.

To be honest, I'm assuming Poo was meant as a joke for kids who would mash through the naming section. If they didn't want to take the time to name their characters, they'd get a (not really) nasty surprise.

I'm not sure…. It's kinda hard to name the characters something else when the names fit the characters so well….
And also they can just say "don't care" and another name like Kato or Omar or Aziz can be used instead of Poo.

But would a kid care enough to do that? Putting the regular names are easier.

Yeah. There's this comic on Starmen.net called "The Chosen Four" and it's the best shit I've ever read.
The art during the first chapter or two are horrible…. But after that, it's amazing.

And the humor's relentlessly awesome, too. But it has some gorey parts too– like when Poo's mastering his Mu training or whatever and he gets all his limbs torn off or broken or whatever…
