Early teens? VERY. Midteens? Still pretty shocking. Late teens? Yep, still shocking I guess. I mean, people have big parties to celebrate being pregnant no matter how old they are. Also, if it's a very young person, the shock may also be big because of the possibility of sexual assault.

A girl can get pregnant before she's even had a period, if she gets pregnant on what would have been her first cycle. So yes, it is quite possible for her to get pregnant after only 1 period.
