Creating a couple of worlds that have very futuristic or cyberpunk(in appearance) themes. Big thing is that it is set more utopian(Tomorrowland, for example). Many of the problems today or that we fear, we’ve fixed and grown from. Any ideas on how to effectively create a cyberpunk utopia so to speak? And/or new problems/ theories that can arise afterwards?
Hmm…One thing I'd expect from a world where everything is "fixed" would be an extreme amount of control over society, usually in the hands of a privileged few. For example, a world with no hunger could mean that people are drafted into the agriculture business, the number of children per family are limited, and/or the amount of food each family has per week is limited. A world with no diseases could be a world in which overpopulation is a massive problem….or in which you can only live to a certain age before you choose your method of death….or in which children are a luxury only the rich can afford.
shrugs The whole idea of an over-controlled "utopia" might be a bit cliche at this point, though. An interesting alternative might be a dangerous lack of control. Example: gene-editing is cheaply available to the public, and while the scientists intended for it to be used to remove inherited sicknesses or something, many people use it for selfish, even criminal purposes. Think super-strong gangsters doing the dirty work for a mutated evil genius with multiple limbs. idk.
Anyway, just some ideas! I'm not sure if you're still in need of any, but I hope they help! ^^
Definitely gave different perspectives to use thanks! Yeah so things would be to that area. Like it wouldn’t be “fixed” so to speak but a lot of problems would be solved and through it(since we live on multiple planets) things would balance out and get better through teaching and having more breathing room.
Sounds really cool! Glad I could help! :)
