Heyy I need some help with creating a steampunk universe, any advice?

Well, what sort of steampunk are you thinking of? The only real principle of steampunk is the 'steam,' that the tech in the world is powered mostly by steam and not by fossil fuels like our world is. When building this sort of world, think about how the steam power would shape the vehicles and landscape. There are also tons of great steampunk works out there to give you idea's. Girl Genius, the webcomic, is set in a steampunk world and focuses heavily on tech. You could look up some images from it to give you ideas about what steam powered tech can look like. Also, there's tons of stuff on tumbr for steampunk. Basically limitless refs on there.

so steampunk is typically set in 1910's-20's, so tech, fashion, slang, and medical science from that time would all apply.

just read some steampunk books and copy all the stuff you like from them.

Watch 'Treasure Planet'. It may not be completely steampunk but it shares a lot of similarities with steampunk.
