@andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)
If you select the show the specific universe, it only shows for example the characters you created. Any characters contributors created, aren't there. You have to go to All Universe. At first I assumed many they lost our universe name. They haven't. It's the same for them.
The selection of a universe is now a selection of your characters in that universe, if you want to see everyone else's contribution, you only option all universe's, that is not exactly a nice viable option. I honestly don't mind if you can make a selection between showing what I've done only and what everyone has done in a specific universe, but all Universe, is not a good choice, for those who might later make more things.
I'm going to go on github and poke a recent change where I assume it might be, but I'm still grasping you backend.
@dp-wes Thanks for letting me know. I think the issue is due to my reworks in https://github.com/indentlabs/notebook/pull/1003 – I'll look into it and get a fix into tonight's release. I can tag you on the change so you can see what changed / what fixed it, if you'd like! Thanks again!
I'm still learning your backend code, otherwise I'd suggest what to change.
@andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) I'll tack on another bug report into this thread, because I have a feeling they might be related in some way - all of my archived pages have suddenly reappeared onto my Characters overview page, even though when I click on them they're showing as still being archived. I don't see a way to change the filters to not show them, so I'm assuming that this is unintended.
This could be the reason behind why the totals in my sidebar are accurate until I click on the page and then the number jumps up for some reason.
Unrelated, but I also appear to have a bug where the universes are showing duplicated in my "choose universe" dropdown in the sidebar.
BUT, both of the two bugs only appear when I'm on any of the pages categories. Right now, from the forums, everything looks normal and okay. But all of the pages categories (universes, characters, items, and locations are the ones I tried) are showing the above.
Thanks, all! I released a small update last night that should address a couple of these issues (archived pages showing up, contributor pages not being linkable, and duplicated pages showing on category pages). I'll look into why some universes are duplicating in the choose universe dropdown next. Thanks for the heads up!
If you meant by "last night" that we should be seeing the update already now - there's no change on my end. I still see the archived pages from the Character overview, the numbers are still wrong in the sidebar, etc.
@lunarballoons It looks like that release had an issue and didn't fully deploy. I just did another release tonight that should include those changes, though. I'm no longer seeing duplicate universes, incorrect numbers, etc – would you mind double checking at your convenience that things are fixed for you as well? Thanks!
@andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) Yeah, everything with the archived pages and the duplicated universes appears to be fixed now. You also seem to have fixed a bug that I didn't know was a bug - my sidebar numbers have never displayed the numbers from universes I'm a contributor to, only from pages I've created myself. I realize the sidebar numbers all seemed wrong to me because they're now displaying all the pages from all universes I'm in, including the pages I didn't create myself! That's why the numbers looked so off to me. xD
It was probably tied into the original bug report from this thread, so when that was fixed, the rest was too. It all appears fixed to me now!
Hurrah! Glad to hear it! :)
@dp-wes Are the bugs you reported above also fixed? Everything should be back to normal now, but I just want to double check!
@andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) Sorry been busy, if anything it got worse.
I now have no easy way to see what my contributor has done on the world building pages.
Before:
Select "specific universe" - Only shows characters my things I created
Select All universes - Shows mine and what my contributors has down even from that "specific universe"
Now:
Select "specific universe" - Only shows characters my things I created
Select All universes - Only shows characters my things I created
I have tried going to pages that my wife has done (this is the my contributor), from a link of one of my characters, I can still edit her characters. It's a list thing, for displaying what it is suppose to show for your characters, locations and items etc, I can't see any of her things she's done, but on the individual page it's fine.
To me it is still broken.
While you've not let me know an update was made, it does appear to be working back to how it was before, I can see my contributor(s) "things" when I select a "specific universe", which is useful and much easier to manage. Thank you.
@dp-wes That's good to hear! I pushed out a release last night that I thought would fix it, but was holding off to update you until tonight's release was also out and I was sure everything was back to normal. I hate to keep dragging people along with "is it fixed yet? is it fixed yet?" when I'm not 100% sure it is.
I'm gonna write some tests around collaboration to make sure content doesn't disappear like that in the future, but I appreciate you checking in and letting me know that it's properly working again for you!
