Okay, so I know I’m not the only one who’s noticed that we’ve been getting a whole lot more application errors since the site updated. Normally they go away after an hour or so when they’re at their worst, but this is the second day where the errors have taken effect at about 7 pm (for me, at least) and have stayed that way until about 8 am the next morning. I’m no expert in site mechanics/coding, but could the updates be causing the application errors more? Maybe we should go back to the old version of notebook until the thing causing the errors is resolved?
Hey, this is unfortunately unrelated to the new updates. We have a service we pay for that automatically creates new servers when the site is under heavy load (to make sure there are enough servers to respond to everyone using the site) and the last two nights that service has stopped working overnight (until I wake up and manually reset it in their interface).
I've opened an issue with the company that hosts our servers to figure out what's going on here, and to stop it from happening in the future. Until they give me an answer, I'm doubling the number of standby servers we have processing requests. I'll also be keeping a close eye on the site to make sure I'm around to reset their service if it happens again.

Just to follow up on this, the issue that was causing so many Application Errors should be resolved; we've had zero seconds of downtime in the past 48 hours. I'm going to keep the redundant servers in place though; they speed up the average site load speed by 0.2 seconds, which doesn't sound like a lot, but adds up when you're loading tons of pages in a row during a strike of inspiration. :)
