forum some html isnt working?

i dont know if its just me, or it just hasnt been added as a feature, but i cant get things like center and spoilers to work in the mannerisms section, where i add most information on my characters. is this simply a problem with my browser? im on chrome so i assume not, but i dont really know. some quick assistance with this would be greatly appreciated!

Nothing between the html tag angles (I don't know what these are called < >) works for me within the character templates; however, they do work in forum posts. I suspect the site has different settings for these two areas.
