I’ve had this issue too. I’ll try to search something and it just doesn’t go anywhere for about five minutes before coming up with application error.
yeah! and its not that i need to update chrome, because i'm fully updated on all fronts i can think of
Heya! I actually already brought this up a bit ago, and @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) said something about overloaded servers/code (Something about the forums being so huge the search function has a hard time searching it I think)? It was like… last week tbh so don't quote me.
Anyway my original purpose for being here is that the search actually does work, it's just slow.
You have to let it load to the error page, count to ten, then refresh. And voila! Your search results are there! (I say count to 10 because if you do it too fast it glitches more…)
.
It's kinda like the forum bug that came up awhile ago, you just have to be patient, and refresh, and it'll fix itself. :D
(Sorry if this sounded rude and know-it-all… I don't mean it that way I'm just trying to help…)
@croccin-champagne Do you mean searching the site (e.g. clicking "Search your notebook" in the top-right menu of any page and getting something like https://www.notebook.ai/search?q=test), or searching the forums?
The former should work properly, but as @Exhaustion said the forums are separate software that's pretty stretched and I need to go in and improve their search in order for it to always work.
oh you were perfectly helpful! it makes sense that it would just be overworked
i think it would be forums, unless search discussions is the first option. it's not the absolute end of the world, it just makes it hard to reference previous threads for information about a character through a search(i use names that arent commonly used on here, so its not like im searching the word spaghetti).
I do the same thing crocs! Also, did you know there's a way to see all your previous threads (anything you've made/posted to)?
I think it's somewhere in the data vault(?)
i did! the only issue is if i'm trying to look for information in a roleplay that way, and i cant remember the name lmao. i've had a lot of roleplays and threads with certain characters, so its sometimes harder to find certain info, especially if im not sure how old it is
Oof… Well… Try just using the refresh method…?
i keep trying lol, its stopped working at this point. really ive just resigned myself to having to figure it out some other way, cause i cant even figure out why its so bad at this point
Hmm…. That's unfortunate
