I have a drawing of a character that I want to send to a user but I don't know how to put in attachments.

You need to save it to your computer, copy the link into a gallery on Notebook (upload an image to an item category or something like that, you should probably add it to the character), and then copy the image link from the picture while you're in the Notebook page so you can paste that working link into a discussion board.
