How do you make a successful role-play or at least, want it to be seen?

In terms of it being seen, I'd recommend posting roleplays around times that seem especially busy with people, so you know people are online. Right now is not busy much at all, but around 11-12 or late in the day are quite busy for me. (Right now it's 9:22 am for me)

As I've learned, and that's why I now have a booming (or so I call it) RP at this moment, is that an interesting title makes all the difference. My very much dead RP Magica College just stated the name of the RP. My newest one, "Diagnosis: Anxiety, Depression, and Mental Illness" filled up quickly, because of the title. I've seen people use such titles, and I finally decided to try it, and through that way I've discovered one of the secrets people use to get people to join your RPs.
