I've looked at the new announcement thread probably about 6 times, by now, but it's marked as unread. I tried unfollowing it, but it didn't do anything. Help?

I'm having the same problem..I've responded to all of the chats and everything and it still says I haven't for any of them..
The notifications are glitching out big time at the moment, try refreshing the page a bunch of times, that's what's working for me.
I've refreshed this one page for over an hour and it's still unread
Well in that case… No idea.
@andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)
Just wanted to make sure you were aware of this!
Refreshing twice every time I switch pages is working for me… (Thank god for the refresh button on my chromebook keyboard….)
Same with me, and I can’t seem to comment on some of them.
Hmm, looking into this. If the servers are backed up there might be some delay in things getting marked read, but I'll dig in and get it sorted out. Thanks, guys!
No problem! Thanks for looking at it!
Hmm, that 'refresh twice' thing seems to be making a difference. Still weird, though. Thanks for looking at it! Hope it gets sorted out soon!
Yeah, refreshing twice actually seems to be helping a lot.
Servers aren't actually backed up and threads are being marked read in the database, as they should be. My best guess so far is that one of the libraries I needed to upgrade for security fixes last night changed the way our browsers are caching pages. So when you visit a page you've already visited before (like the forums), your browser says, "Hey, I loaded this page a while ago! I'll just show that again instead of refreshing!" for speed's sake. This seems to be why things don't look like they're updating. When you manually refresh the page, your browser actually requests the latest version from the server (which, obviously, is what you want).
Still looking into why this is happening and what I can do to tell browsers, "hey, always request the latest version! What are you even doing?". In the meantime, I'd second the suggestion of refreshing pages that look out of date.
Sorry, all!
(I am shocked that I actually came up with the right strategy for this….)
Just realized that a similar thing is happening with adding new fields to categories: when I try to add a new field, it doesn't show up when editing previously existing races unless I reload the page a couple of times. It does show up when creating new races, though.
Whoops, I just saw the explanation as to why this is happening. Makes sense now! Thanks for all your hard work, @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)!
Mine is also trying to tell me I have unread updates when I don’t for some threads but not others. Will update if that changes.
Okay, it’s not showing the latest version of threads whether there’s an unread part of not, just fyi. I think that’s basically what @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) is saying anyway, but eh whatever.
I think I fixed the issue; the site should be returning to normal now. Is anyone still seeing unreads or pages not updating when they should be?
Everything looks good to me; I’m not sure about others, thanks @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)!
It was glitching out for a moment, but everything appears to be fine now. :D
Seems to be working for me. Thanks for fixing that @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)
That's much better! Thanks @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)!
Same for me! Thanks!
