I am the Creator of our "Universe", my wife whom we are writing a Book/VN with, is a contributor.
We can see each others content in other area's, like characters, locations etc, however documents is not one of them, even though they can be assigned to our universe.
Is this a bug or intended, as both of us listed a few documents to be set in the same Universe, however when looking at the universe page, we only see the ones we wrote, respectively we don't see each others.
It has led to me create some creative work arounds in universe pages, for notes I wanted to share with her.
As a contributor, she should be able to see it and me as the original creator, should see anything assigned to the same universe, even if it's private, just like any other page, correct?
Documents also can't be manually referenced by using @ "Insert name here". Other pages can, this works if done correctly.
In the future, the Documents pages working so we can both use and see them, will be much needed.

Unfortunately, this is by design right now. Syncing changes from multiple contributors on a document is a super-hard programming problem that has a lot of potential to lose/overwrite documents; because of that, documents are only visible to their owner right now (unless you share a read-only version publicly).
It probably wouldn't be too difficult to share a read-only version of the document with your universe contributors though (where the owner can edit it, and others can only see it), so I'd definitely be down to try to get that in as a feature soon (including things like @-mentioning documents).
Sorry about the confusion there! I definitely want to get full-on document collaboration done eventually, but I want to make sure I get it done right so I don't lose any data. I'll definitely get something in the middle (like seeing collaborators' documents) done in the meantime though!
Hi @andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) thank you for clearing that up. I understand, documents does seem to be designed differently, just didn't know it was that different.
I will continue to use what I do for now, just making a lot of new fields in universe, it's looks a bit silly but works for notes and look forward to your future upgrades in this area.
Not like I intended to use it to replace other things in pro or what documents where for, It's just until we go pro. I just needed a place for our notes that is shared, we can both see and edit.

Just wanted to follow up and say that tonight's release adds the ability to @-mention documents and see (read-only) versions of documents in universes you're a contributor to, but you're still not able to edit them unless they're your own documents. Eventually… but this is a start!
@dp-wes Did a quick test, glad your trying out new things.
To me it didn't work fully based on what you said. I can now see there is now more documents there, but there is no buttons at all, no view button for example, under these new ones. So not really any way to view them.
Also I can mention them with @ but to me it doesn't link properly it just displays at the code name, when I switch to view, not the title name, when viewed.
I can test more later.

Documents can be seen now, read-only if a contributor, so there is a view button you can click.
When the documents auto references/links, Title works, but link isn't right.

You'll recognise this, as it's normal for worldbuilding url's, if you delete /plan/ the url works, not the point though, the one used gives a 404 error.
