Pointing their weapons, just as they were prepared to fire, they were signaled down. It was a strange act, but the guards did not question, and did as they were told, though the leader, closest to the man who signaled them down caught each other’s eyes. He tilted his head, as if asking what are you doing, but the man simply stared at the ‘woman’ standing ahead of them.
“Greetings, boys.” She spoke, wet hair dripping. She slowly walked forwards. “I suppose this was a rather unannounced visit?”
No one laughed.
The man, identied as Anton, stood upright. He stared her face to face. “What are you here for?”
“I think you’re aware. Just give it to me, and we won’t have any problems.” At this point, they were standing close to each other.
“This?” Anton turned around, nodding to a guard, who handed him a small pearl like contraption - a very small one, at that.
“Yes,” the woman stared at it. Anton could’ve sworn her blue eyes glinted a yellow, but perhaps it was a trick of the light, or just being in the ocean for so long.
Anton brought the gear up, but did not hand it to her.
“I would like to know how you got here. This is a classified submarine. No person - not one person should have been able to get here without control being notified, then notifying me afterwards..”
The woman stared at Anton as he continued on. “In fact, I seem to no long be able to contact Control. Do you have anything to do with that? Or was it a coincidence that it suddenly stopped working just as the stranger arrived on the sub with no warning? Care to..” Anton dropped the pearl which rolled to one of the feet of the guard standing in the distance. The guard moved to quickly grab it, hiding it.
The guards pointed their weapons at the woman, who had gripped Anton’s hand, holding him there.
“Give it to me,” the woman spoke, still smiling, “or I’ll fucking shatter your hand and bite your throat out.”
Anton’s pulse quickened, but he hadn’t let it show. Keeping a calm voice, he loudly stated, “weapons down.” Hesitantly, for the second time the guards lowered their weapons. The one holding the pearl moved to the back, then left with another guard.
“I’ll give it to you.” Slowly, she released Anton, who surveyed the area for the pearl. “Now, where did it-“
Anton stopped as a searing pain filled his abdomen. He did not think to look down and see a claw like hand sticking out of it. Immediately, the guards brandished their weapons again. Like he was a simple toy, Anton was flung to the side, hitting the wall and falling limp.
“Yaf syryl’z qaulq za qujy uz za py. Xe bfwz zaac zmy eraeyr pyiwfryw. Goodnight, boys.” The ‘woman’ spoke in a harsh sounding language, ending in English as her form shifted completely. The next few seconds were a blur to her, and to the men standing there.
“Fire!”
