When the hearts get a new corpse, they lose all memory except what they're programmed to remember by the Hearter. They are like Iron Man, kind of- clockwork hearts that can be "programmed" with magic only the Hearter can use, and fresh human corpses that don't decay as long as the magic lasts. Kind of morbid, if you think about it
So they only have feelings that they are programmed to have, like dedication and loyalty to their owner.
When considered that way, her reactions do make a lot more sense. The only issue is finding a way to get that across so the reader isn't yanked out of their suspension of disbelief by the kind-of-murder before they realize it's more like watching someone take a sledgehammer to the robot-butler.
But I do like it on the whole and it's definitely descriptive enough in the action scenes~
Can you critique my character? Lukas Jay Payge
If you're not into doing character critiques I totally get it.
