(Yeah)
(Yeah)
Elowan watched the bar, noticing when a new person sat beside her. She decided to make conversation; what else was there to do while Xavier was still drunk?
"Howdy! What brings you out here?"
Okubo sipped on his milk, oblivious of the person talking to him.
Elowan, undaunted by being ignored, tried again a little louder than before. "Hi! I'm Elowan, what's your name?"
Okubo didn't hear the shouts, and continued to drink his milk. When it was gone, he signed at the bartender, "Can I get more milk, please?"
"Whatever," Elowan murmered, turning back to her own drink. How rude.
(He's deaf…. he can't hear you and he wasn't speaking, whenever I put something in quotations, he's going to be signing.)
(Oh, okay)
Elowan kept sipping her drink, looking at the stranger. Eventually her curiosity got the best of her and she tapped him on the shoulder.
Okubo turned to the person who had tapped his shoulder, "Can I help you?" he signed as he tilted his head.
Oh! He was deaf. Elowan blushed a bit, embarrased at her anger earlier "I was just wondering why you were here. I'm trying to round up everyone working on the same job I am so we can get going."
Okubo shrugged, "I come here just to hang out," he signed and his ear twitched a little, "Why? What's the job?"
"We're going dragon hunting!" Her face lit up. "We'll be trekking through the desert fighting off raiders and bandits and monsters until we get to the dragon dens, and then we'll get to kill the dragons too!"
"Got nothing better to do," Okubo yawned and scratched behind an ear, "When are we going to get going?" he asked then took another sip of his milk.
"Oh you're coming with? Great!" Elowan smiled widley. They were making a nice little party here. "I don't actually know when we're leaving, but it'll probably be tonight, maybe a little later. Everyone's been kinda seperate, one of us is drunk off his ass, and I'm not entirley sure evryone is here yet."
"By the way," She added quickly, 'What's your name? I'm Elowan!"
"Can you repeat that last part a little slower?" Okubo asked, "It's hard to read your lips when you talk that fast."
"Oh sorry. Um… We'll probably leave late today or early tomorrow," She said, gesturing a little along with her words "I'm waiting for my, uh… friend Xavier to sober up before I leave. Also: My name's Elowan, what's yours?" She watched expectantly when she finished.
"Thanks, and my name is Okubo, nice to meet you," Okubo smiled.
"Nice to meet you too," She echoed. She felt akward as the conversation wound down. If there was one thing she hated, it was an awkward silence. "So… How do you like the town?"
Okubo shrugged, "I don't know, it's a change from my village, but I don't know if it's a good or a bad change."
Elowan nodded. "I feel ya. I'm only here for excitement. It's hard to get a good adrenaline rush these days."
Okubo nodded, "What do you usually do for excitement?" he asked.
"Kill things." She laughed, a bit hysterically. "Sometimes I jump of mountains. Once I -oh god I was dumb- I dueled my way into leading a village."
"Oh, really?" Okubo asked, "Sounds nice," he stretched and yawned.
"Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's teriffying. Though," She reflected, "So is most of life. I'd rather live on the edge then be bored to tears by my own life."
