Firenze looked up curiously at the sign, shaking his brown and green hair out of his eyes as he stepped into the doorway and peered in curiously. Both a garden and a bakery….? Maybe they would be looking for hired hand, since he probably wouldn’t be lucky enough to get a position as an apprentice since he had little to no verification that he was even a citizen or anything… He sighed as he gazed around.
As soon as you step into the building, you're hit with the smell of fresh mint and warm air. You hear some noise from a large kitchen and if you look to your side, you'd see a glass wall with a greenery behind it.
Teigi wandered the markets, glancing at each colorful stall he passed. The young man finally came to a stop in front of a stall full of books. The place wasn't attracting many customers, so Teigi stepped over, greeting the seller with a grin. He only hoped that he wouldn't be recognized, at least, not until he found a new notebook, and perhaps some more ink. The man glanced down at his feet as he heard a familiar jingle. His cat, Ren, had caught up to him, and was sitting at his feet. Teigi scanned the products, still not touching any of the books. He looked back up at the shopkeeper, one eyebrow raised.
"Are these books empty?"
Firenze walked into the bakery fully, sniffing at the air, his stomach growling. It had been cloudy the past few days and he was reluctant to tap into his sunlight energy reserves. He still had a couple coins, maybe he could buy some bread…. He spotted the glass wall and went over curiously to see what plants they had growing.
(Hey Ash, is that the stall I was hinting at? With the modgepodge of things? Becuase that's the only one with books that you can see)
(Yeah, that's the one, sorry if I made it unclear!)

There was quite the variety, some basic herbs as well as some exotic looking plants. There was a strong looking woman going through them and watering the plants with a tiny watering can. It almost looked commercial. Your examination was cut short by a hand on your shoulder and a chipper voice. "Hello there kiddo! How can I help you?"

"Are these books empty?"
Your question was first met by a sharp toothed smile and a clap of hands. "Why yes! Some of them happen to be empty. Are you looking for cursed books, empty grimoires, charmed paper? I've got a few of those in stock!"
(ah, hold on, I've got a secret about Teigi that I'll PM you about real quick)
"Oh, nothing that fancy! I'm only looking for an empty notebook!" Teigi smiled back, still examining the books. Ren hopped up onto the man's shoulder, and Teigi pat his head. "Ren, what do you think?" The cat mewed in response, and the pirate chuckled. "Although, charmed paper could be nice. What sort of charms?"
Firenze jumped at the hand and voice, scaring badly. They shook a little as they turned to the owner of the voice and stammered, “J-just l-looking for some f-food and a j-job perhaps…?” They cowered a bit, looking ready to flee at any sign of hostility. They hadn’t been treated kindly on the road, and now theqirninnate sense of trust was broken.

The smile on the vendor's face never vanished as they splayed their hands, showing off multiple paper charms. "Oh we've got all kinds. Luck charms, privacy charms, blood charms, excetra charms!" They're eyes, and I mean all of them, were wide with excitement.

The owner of the voice happened to be a very short fairy who was hovering in the air. No wonder you didn't hear them come up. "Well, me and my wife have been looking for an extra hand… And you do seem like you need some food. How about you stay for lunch and we can talk about setting you up with a job! What's your name kiddo?"
(Me, realizing I’ve been using male pronouns for my non-binary character…. sighs deeply)
“I-I’m Firenze. Firenze Godfrey. I can just buy some bread though, it’s fine… I have a few coins left….” He fidgeted nervously, even more worried because the owner was a fairy and it uncomfortably reminded him of why he was even here in the first place…
"W-What happened?" Arion said breathlessly, he groaned and attempting sitting up.
He eyed his surroundings, not recognizing where he was. He looked up at the stranger, "Who are you?"
Arion shuddered and laid back down. His wounds were almost too much, but he knew that he couldn't sit here for much longer, exposed and vulerable.
