Crescentshine nodded. "Do you think he's just shy? You and I know he can n speak of course, so I know he's quiet by choice… but he's never explained why."
"All right!" Lilypaw exclaimed. "I'm gonna catch a mouse so big it'll feed the whole clan!" She dashed after the warriors.
“Oh yeah? Well I’m gonna catch a badger!” Coppershine teases.
Duckwing laughed. "That's impossible, Lilypaw. You'd have to catch a big old city rat for a mouse to feed a clan." He trotted out of camp with the others.
“Duckwing, you better watch out, cause if you don’t stop talking, the only thing I’m gonna be hunting is you, sweetheart,” Coppershine purred.
Eaglestar glanced over at Dewpaw. "He is especially quiet, quieter than most apprentices. I believe he'll get on just fine. Tonight's the half moon, he and Tawnyleaf will be going to the Moonpool. Perhaps he it would do him well to meet other medicine cat apprentices."
"Well, I'm going to catch a lot of prey. And our clan will be so strong they could take on all three other clans at once!"
Duckwing stuck his tongue out teasingly. "I'd like to see you try to catch me~" He picked up his pace a bit, laughing to himself.
Dewpaw noticed the patrol leaving and decided to go out looking for herbs, following them. He stayed a good distance away, though, and he planned on splitting off more when they got into the forest.
Crescentshine nodded again, watching Dewpaw leave as well. "True… He hardly even speaks to Lilypaw, though I suppose she probably tires him out."
"Lilypaw's got the energy of five cats. I'm starting to think she took all of it and left Dewpaw with none"
Crescentshine laughed softly. "Maybe. Even right when they were born, Lilypaw wouldn't sit still and Dewpaw was content to just lay between my paws. He's very hardworking, even if he doesn't speak."
“Oh, was that a challenge?” Coppershine asked in a mock-threatening voice. “I am more than up to it, honey.” She upped the pace just a little bit more.
((oh shoot sorry thought ubwere talking to Lilypaw))
((I'm dumb))
Tawnyleaf caught up with Dewpaw, as fast as her twisted paw could allow. "One of the kits have a nasty cough," she informed him. "We've got to get some catmint, from twolegplace. Are you up to it?"
Duckwing ran ahead. "You can't catch meee!" He called back. This brought back memories of just a few moons ago when he and Coppershine had done the same thing.
Dewpaw nodded and changed direction, now heading towards twolegplace.
"You mousebrains, you're scaring off all the prey!" Hissed Lilypaw.
"You gotta think like the prey to catch it, amirite?" Duckwing hopped to the side, into some bushes.
((i have to go, I'll be back later))
Coppershine started running as fast as he paws would allow. “Lilypaw, I am the prey!” she yowled as she raced after Duckwing. The wind ruffled her fur, and her pelt seemed to glow in the morning sun.
(( toodles! ))
When Coppershine ran by, Duckwing popped his head out of the bushes. "Missed me!" He hopped out and ran off in a different direction.
Dewpaw approached twolegplace, his nose in the air while he searched for catmint.
“Oh, that was nasty!” Coppershine yelled. She tried to skid to a stop, but smashed headfirst into an oak tree. “Ouch!” she yowled.
Duckwing skittered to a stop and tentatively headed back over. "Coppershine? You good?"
