Antoine perks when he hears footsteps. He bites his lip, fumbling with the velvet box in his hands, and releases a pent up sigh. It was time. This was a life long commitment and it was something he was not going to mess up. He was so nervous, but he knew in his chest that this was right. That he wanted to do this. He wanted this. He could only pray that this would turn out. That was his only hope. He needed to do this. He loved Marlene so much. He wanted to make her happy. He takes a breath and relaxes.
Mar can see Antione standing nervously at the end of the pathway. She runs up to him and hugs him. "Hi," She greets him. "So what's this about?" She asks.
Antoine hugs her back, just standing there for a moment before pulling back. "Can we take a walk?" he asks, smiling a little, threading his hand with hers.
"Yeah, sure." She takes his hand and steps off into the snow.
Antoine walks beside her, smiling softly. He leads her towards a small clearing before turning towards her. He bites his lip before slowly getting onto one knee, pulling the box out with the ring. "Marlene Emeline Martin…" He whispers. "I know we were sworn enemies, and honestly I regret ever hurting you, but… I had grown to love you, and I still do. So much in fact, that I want to make this commitment. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I'm not good at speeches. So I'll say this. Marlene. The love of my life. Will you marry me?" He asks gently.
Marlene stands there, speechless for a moment, before running and crashing on top of him. "Yes. Yes, yes, yes." She answers, voice muffled in his coat. "Yes, puppy. Yes."
Antoine catches her in his arms, laughing softly as he clung to her, kissing her cheeks, her face, her lips. He was so relieved and happy. He clings to her, sighing softly. "I love you." He whispers.
"I love you too," Mar whispers. She was exhilarated. She didn't think it'd ever really happen, and now it had. She was so, so happy. "I love you too."
Antoine hugs her before gently pulling the both of them up. He gently takes her left hand and places the ring on her ring finger. "I love you." He whispers, hugging her again.
"I know. Mutual. Very much so." Mar flexed her fingers, looking at the ring. It was really beautiful.
He smiles, kissing her. He was so happy. He picks her up and swoops her through the air before bringing her back to his chest.
Mar shrieks in surprise, then burst out in happy laughter.
"I love you, I love you." He whispers, over and over again. She had said YES.
I know you do. I love you too, puppy. She laughed and tousled his hair. He had PROPOSED!
he hugs her. "I'll bet you look amazing in a wedding dress!" He says, kissing her gently. "Now, why don't we get out of this cold and get some dinner." He holds her hands happily.
"Sounds good to me." She walks very close to him, leaning against him and holding his hand tightly.
He kissed her hand and smiles warmly. "I love you." He chuckles, "Where do you want to eat?"
"I love you too." She returns the smile. "Have you ever had cake for dinner?"
"Not that I can recall." Antoine replies, kissing her nose.
"Well, let's do it then. The Cake Bake." She grins.
"Sounds good to me!" He laughs, swinging their hands gently.
"We can walk there. Hayley isn't very far." She suggests, giggling.
"I could fly right now." Antoine replies.
"So could I." Her heart is still beating madly in her chest.
