Toriel smiles, happy to be able to be able to put a face to the voice who told jokes at the Ruins' door.
"Apologies for being late, I had to make sure these two were alright. While you're here, would you like some pie as well?" she offered.
Grinning he sits. "Ain't no skin off my back, Tori. It's the yeast I can do if I'm here an all."
Chara snorts before turning her head away and between her chuckles, she choked out, "Oh. My. God. No…" After she conquered her laughing fit, she looked back up at Toriel. "Where did you find this… comedian?"
Toriel laughed again, the puns hard for her not to laugh at. Coming out the kitchen with another slice of pie, she handed it to Sans.
"Well, he came to me first. I was by the door at the end of the Ruins, when I heard someone practicing his knock knock jokes," she explained, sitting on the floor next to Chara.
"It was quite hard to resist joining in on. Plus, they were quite humerus," she finished, adding in a pun.
"Ughh…. you too now huh?" Chara grumbled, covering her light snickers of laughter.
Wrapping Chara in a light hug, Toriel chuckled, able to hear their muffled giggles.
Frisk leaned forward on the arm of the large chair, listening to the light giggles of Chara and Toriel.
Sans takes a bite. "Tibia honest, this is really good. Food for the SOUL."
Laughing lightly, Toriel responds, "Thank you. Pie am happy you enjoy it!"
"Uuuuggggghhhhhh……" Chara groaned and slid from her seat and onto the floor.
Frisk leaned over to Toriel and whispered "Who is he…?"
(Sorry just got back from camping)
"Just a good friend of mine," she replied with a grin.
(got back from a weekend full of people over, and specifically one person as well <-< eee)
"How'd you guys meet??" Chara asked, genuinely puzzled. "Is he gonna replace Dad…?"
"Well," Toriel started before realizing what the second question was. "Goodness, where did you get that idea from? Asgore and I may no longer be together, but replace?" The question was quite surprising. She liked Sans, but wasn't sure if it was quite to that level.
"You're laughing again, because of him," Chara explained before standing up from her seat.
"I don't wanna call him Dad…" She pointed at Sans.
"But I guess I'll still acknowledge his existence, as long as he makes you happy, Mother" She grumbled out the last part, conflicted.
Toriel felt embarrassed that Chara thought Sans would end up replacing Asgore as a father. She gave a quick apology to Sans before turning back to Chara.
"Asgore is still very much your father. Sans is simply a friend. Your father and I had some disagreements after you and Asriel…" she trailed off, not wanting to get into the sad story again.
"That doesn't mean he's being replaced, my child," she assured Chara.
After I and Asriel died Chara finished in her head. She nodded slowly in solemn agreement. How come Asriel hasn't come back, yet I have…? She grumbled quietly and attempted a hollow smile to try and get her mother to cheer up. "Alright." She said simply.
Frisk felt kinda awkward. She had no idea what they were talking about. Asgore? Who was he? From what Frisk had gathered,Asgore was Toriel's ex-husband. She whispered to Toriel, "Umm…so is he gonna leave…or…yeah? Because I think you have a little bit of explaining to do…"
"He is a guest just like you. Even though I did ask him not to come here," she added, slightly annoyed. Sighing, she sat on the floor by the fireplace with the two young children and began the tale of what had happened since Chara and Asriel died. She rubbed soothing circles on Chara's back as to try calm them. They deserved to know by some point.
"This is why I live in the Ruins now. To protect the fallen children from the fate that others have had."
Chara nodded her head, trying to understand everything that had happened since both her and Asriel left. Her mind kept growing blank and fuzzy, left in her thoughts and memories. She felt something warm travel slowly down her cheek, and she frowned in confusion. When it reached her lips, she tasted salt, and empty sadness.
"Azzie hasn't come back. He won't ever come back, will he?" She murmured quietly to herself.
Toriel set Chara in her lap and wiped away their tears.
"I'm not sure, Chara. In time, we can only hope that he will."
"Kay…" Chara leaned against Toriel and sighed heavily. She couldn't feel Asriel's soul anymore. His presence seemed, gone. She only felt his being in fragments through her dreams and deep thoughts. Just stay DETERMINED she reminded herself quietly.
Sans had chuckled at the dad comment, and followed them into the living room.
(I have always thought that Sans and Undyne would have killed some of the fallen humans to spare Asgore the pain of it. Undyne killed Bravery, and Sans killed Justice and Kindness)
(Imma probs ship Sans and Grillby, caus reasons. And maybe Papyton, if there are issues let me know)
(I used to ship Soriel but now, not really. I just ship Toriel with pie and taking care of kids. I ship Sans and ketchup more than an actual ship lol)
